Let’s draft Francis Mauigoa and call it a day. Solidify the tackle position opposite of Paris Johnson. Sign a premium guard or two in free agency, and maybe you roll the dice on a QB young believe has potential in rd 2. To me that’s Trinidad Chambliss. If we hit the 3rd rd and Beck is there, then I take him there.
Chambliss is returning to Ole Miss.

I dunno...the 3rd pick seems a bit early to me for a right tackle.

I would draft Mauigoa and feel for the most part we have a very pertinent need addressed. Defenses move their premier pass rushers all over the field now and a RT could be said to hold close to the same importance as the LT. Nothing is a sure thing but would feel pretty comfortable drafting him.

It's a cost/value proposition. A RT is easier to find, and having an elite one is less important than other positions.
AND Mauiogoa is a good to very good prospect rated higher due to a weak draft in general, and tackles in particular

last year he would have been taken in the 20s

And you end up with an injured QB. But, you saved money on what you spent on the OL. So there's that.
Or you are the Chargers who have invested 1st rounders in two OTs who didn't finish the year healthy. Taking a higher value position at 3 isn't about saving money. It's that other positions give you a higher potential return on investment and are tougher to fill.

It's why, in a vacuum, a draft would go Downs, Love, Bailey, and Mauigoa, but in reality it goes Bailey, Mauigoa, Love and Downs. (maybe you flip Downs and Love)

I remember Will Anderson & Danielle Hunter wrecking Slater & Alt in their playoff matchup about a year ago.

Is there a world where you take Love #3? If we could find our own Bijon I’d take a player of that caliber with the 3rd pick.

It seems like all we do on here is complain that you don't take a right tackle, guard or a running back high in the draft. They can be gotten anywhere. But, yet we are always looking for a...... right tackle, guard or running back.
If there is a good one out there that can be gotten some other way, why don't we have him?

I mean there is but the Cardinals would have needed to shore up their offense line, be adamant about not drafting a QB, no takers to trade up, and acquired a top edge to play opposite of Sweat.

Just because the Cardinals can't do it doesn't mean it can't be done. We did it with James Conner. Kenyan Drake. Bobby Massie. Kelvin Beachum for a time.

There will be options in FA this year. Up to Monti to find one who fits.

We tried getting a guard high in the draft. That was a fiasco. We took a tackle high in the draft instead of the RB, and that was a disaster. Bottom line, we're the Cards, and we're a disaster lol

I'm there with you. While I recognize positional value the expected return is more important.
If one of these guys at OT is projected to be a good RT...but an All Pro guard...then draft him to play guard...
Is 3 too high for an OG?? Sure, I guess... but it isn't too high for an All Pro at any position..except maybe kicker or long snapper.

Guys want big John's. War daddies,..you gotta pay for those guys.
Certainly in a perfect world the #3 overall pick gets you an all pro pass rusher, or corner...quarterback...
But the Cardinals have never played in a perfect world...and when you see a guy who is going to be great...then you go get him.

Really is a crap year to have a top five pick that ain't #1 though...

Be sweet if someone 8-10 wanted to trade
