Newton wouldn’t know the play terminology so he couldn’t play. Walker will play the entire game unless injured. He doesn’t seem to see the field well, so the Cards should get picks. Murphy is starting to get healthy and could have a big game.

Sounds like Rondale is out too with the concussion and neck. Good thing Green was activated so we have him and Kirk.

The bye week can't come soon enough.

obviously the Panthers have guys hurt too but this is crazy, no Murray, Hopkins, Pugh, Edmonds or Rondale is what it appears to be and Budda might not play if he can't clear concussion protocols

Walker is a good athlete with a nice arm. I had Dj moore on my fantasy team so I watched him last year. He’s not great but he can be a handful if we’re not smart and disciplined.

It looks like concussion designation was removed from Budda. It's just has knee listed now on injury report.

A wounded CAR team at home is probably the 2nd easiest game left on our schedule (@ DET being the easiest). If we don't win this one, it may come back to haunt us.

REALLY hope Murray is back and that the only reason he hasn't played is because of our record. That's getting REALLY concerning considering this is the 2nd season in a row with durability issues. Also the injury issues are absolutely mounting and will also catch up with us. We have a damn good record and will make the playoffs, but as Ryan Lindley will tell ya, injuries in the playoffs will sink you.

As for Rondale, it's bad that he's out, but let's re-examine that 2nd-round pick a moment here. He's had a few really good plays, but hasn't had a lot of impact. Mostly dink-and-dunk stuff and a horrible return game wedged in there. He needs to do a lot more going forward, once he's healthy. Is it his own limitations (an now injury concerns haunting him) or has KK limited him due to play calls?

Let's get real.

This Panthers O was awful with their starting QB. Ranked 26th in PPG. Now they have PJ Walker starting it's not going to be better. Yes, they have McCaffrey back and that is going to help but he's only one man.

They have the 2nd worse O line in the NFL for allowing pressure and 22nd for sacks.

Their defense looks good on paper but nearly all that production has come vs garbage teams. In recent weeks teams have scored freely against them.

I don;t take anyone lightly but they are worse than the 49ers we just beat on the road. We should beat these guys at home even with some injuries.

Aikman last night said he thinks that after QB, the hardest position in the NFL to come in and learn as a rookie is WR.

I think they have limited Rondale's stuff to allow him to play fast while taking advantage of his ability. Kliff has given Rondale a role and they have stuck to it

Underdogs of more than 7 points are 4-1 outright in Weeks 9-10

The Dolphins’ win over the Ravens on Thursday Night Football continued an impressive run of success for big underdogs in the NFL.

Underdogs of more than seven points have gone 4-1 in Week Nine and Week 10. Before Week Nine, underdogs of more than seven points were 1-26 this season.

The four big recent upsets:

  • The Dolphins beat the Ravens 22-10 as 7.5-point underdogs.
  • The Broncos beat the Cowboys 30-16 as 10-point underdogs.
  • The Jaguars beat the Bills 9-6 as 14.5-point underdogs.
  • The Titans beat the Rams 28-16 as 7.5-point underdogs.
It’s been a surprising run of upsets. And perhaps a warning for the Colts, Cowboys, Bills, Buccaneers, Steelers and Cardinals, all of whom are favored by more than seven points on Sunday.

Weirdly I'm less confident in the team at home than away. A lucky win vs the Vikings. An easy but fairly ugly win over the Texans with a slow start, the defeat against the Packers and an ugly win over the 49ers which was actually a stronger team against a weaker opponent.

You could easily argue that of the 9 games played the 4 home games are the 4 worst performances. So if it's going to be one of those games a home game would make it more likely.

On saying that, this Panthers team is not good. There's a reality where having McCaffrey back, and signing Cam Newton buoys them and PJ Walker after a week of practice looks like Kyler lite but like the Avengers it's only one out of many millions.

On saying that I'm not expecting a high scoring game and I can see it being something like 24-14.

I feel like it's a game where I'd rather a warm McCoy start than a stone cold Kyler. If Kyler starts without 2 weeks of practice it could be a game that catches us out.

On saying that 90 times out of 100 we should win this.

Ended some semi-narratives this year.

- Finally beat the McVay Rams.
- Kliff could win a game without Kyler.
- Got revenge against SF with our backup QB after they beat us with their backup QB

Now we gotta finally beat Carolina again.

I hope these guys are preaching in the locker room how Carolina has beat us by an average of over 10 points a game the last five contests. Even at home embarrassing us.

And with backup QBs getting their first ever start with Kyle Allen a couple years ago who we made look like an All-Pro.

You are taking them to lightly.

1. They potentially can attack our achillies heal - rush defense - in a major way.
2. Their starting QB sucked, so there is not much drop off.
3. They have a quality defense
4. We are quite possibly going to be limited again offensively.

Should we win - yes. But it is far from a sure thing.

Rondale started well, but teams know he's going to be the target of a WR Screen every time he is on the field now and they have been squatting on those plays, limiting his effectiveness.

He also looks like he is hitting the proverbial rookie wall right now.

I think Kliff needs to run him deep a few times and start making teams pay for squatting on the suspected screens a few times. A few 40+ yard plays will make teams back off a bit.
