Been reading about all the choices at 3 and it seems there's no consensus of who's a good pick there.

Simpson-too much bad play and questions.

Reeese- hybrid and no position
Bain- short arms
Bailey- just not worthy of pick 3. I actually don't know enough about him.
Down/Love- positional value doesn't deserve the 3rd overall selection.
RT- Fano and Miami kid. Both might be better guards and RT is not positional value.

Typical Cards luck. They have the 3rd pick and no one is worth it.

I think I want the Miami OT, he looks really good. Would you really be upset if we got a good OT? I dont think we can find one in free agency. Bailey has sack numbers but he gets trashed in run defense. His pro comp is Azeez Ojulari? It would be disgusting if he turned out to be a 3rd down only type of player.

Bain and Reese could be huge difference makers but both are expected to change positions in the pros. Yuck. Is Reese Micah Parsons or Isaiah Simmons?

No matter who we pick, SOMEONE on here is going to be very upset.

If all those standard positions of value DONT have value at #3

take Caleb Downs or Love and just be done with it

lets say Jeremiah Love turns into the next Saquon Barkely in two years -- would we really care he was taken at #3?

I think I'd still rather have a good OT than Saquon. Levi Brown vs. Peterson gets brought up a lot, but that's mainly because Brown was bad and only lasted 5 years. Lane Johnson has been Right Tackle for the Eagles for 13 years now and is still their most important player.

I'm deciding now. I'm in on Francis Mauigoa.

Except we would be the Giants in this case then Love goes to another divisional team & actually succeeds there like Barkley did.

lets me start by saying I have no idea if Love is a Barkley equivalent kind of prospect. we will have a better idea by early April

but i would much rather have an All Pro Safety or RB than an average starting RT or rotational, Melvin Ingram like pass rusher

this draft is pretty poor at the top and I would rather come away with a player who could be a top 3-5 at his position

Oh there is definitely going to be players in this draft that are worthy. But it's our GMs job to figure it out and get it right. That's where I'm not excited.

I believe investing in either side of the line is always worth it.
Yes, but most teams have at most one 1st round offensive lineman, then maybe a 2nd or 3rd, before dropping down to much later rounds and undrafted players.

Here is just a glimpse of the NFC playoff teams:

Rams OL = 1st (from Cards), 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 6th, 6th, UD, UD
Niners OL = 1st (from Redskins), 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, UD, UD
Seahawks OL = 1st, 1st (trade), 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, UD, UD
Bears OL = 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 6th, UD, UD
Eagles OL = 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 6th, 7th, UD, UD
Packers OL = 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 5th, 6th, 7th
Panthers OL = 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 6th, 7th, 7th, UD

I actually watched tape of Bailey today. He is a NATURAL pass rusher. I would definitely take him at 3, mainly because we don’t have a natural pass rusher on our roster. He’s not a phenomenal run stopper, but neither was Von Miller. I’m not saying he’s a Von Miller, but he has that kind of twitch.

Bailey is not trash at run defense. And he’s a natural pass rusher. I do like him, but wouldn’t regret taking an OL there either.

I hate to say it but the best (and only) option for me would be a trade down I just cant see any other way

I usually hate the idea of trading down. But maybe trade back to like pick 10 and pick up an extra second rd pick?

I agree, most of these prospects at the top of the board don’t really stand out as elite “can’t miss” guys.

The problem with trading down and not having a draft with strong top selections, is that we're gunna have trouble trading down.

Not an ideal time to have the 3 pick :(

Is Chambliss worth the 3rd pick? I like him better than Simpson.
