Yeah I mean what’s the guy supposed say? I really preferred coach xyz?
He could just say, “I really like Jordan and I’m looking forward to what he has in store.” Doesn’t have to say he was his first choice.

I’ve been thinking about this. I’m not sure if I totally believe my own theory, but for arguments sake, maybe adding Ishbia didn’t tip the balance as much as removing Sarver did. Maybe Sarver was standing in the way of the Durant trade because he didn’t want the increased payroll and when Ishbia took over he just told James to do what he thought was best. Maybe that’s why Ishbia sounds so annoyed in the internal letter since everyone says he was the sole reason for the Durant trade. Anybody buying that theory? Am I buying that theory? Who knows!?!
I mean, that’s not a completely out of this world possibility, even if unlikely.

Called it. This surprised absolutely nobody. Not the local radio and not national media. So many people from jump called this and said the rest was a dog and pony show by Ishbia. Nepotism at it's finest. I hope he does well but I don't think this shocks anybody. Ishbia is just furthering the national narrative that he doesn't know what he is doing.

That’s true. I wonder if he actually feels that way, or if it’s the organization putting a positive spin on it. The way it’s framed it looks like he endorsed it.

I think James Jones hand carried the trade for Kevin Durant to Mat Ishbia for approval.

if jj was at fault for the kd trade jj would be fired - he would no longer have a job - ish has no problem firing people - jj didn't go to mishigan state - why in the world would ish promote jj if jj was to blame?

cuz he's a nice guy? or because jj thought the knicks wanted too much for kd but ish did it anyway? i reckon none of it matters now but that's how i think it went

Mat Ishbia approved the trade for Kevin Durant and has talked openly about it. However, I don't think it happens if Jones hadn't been pursuing the trade.

“You look back at some of the trades that James and all of us were part of. We do those things 100 out of 100 times. Not 99 out of 100, 100 out of 100 and we’d still do them again and I think the other 29 GMs would all do the same exact thing.”

Anyone would have pursued the Durant trade as soon as he made it clear he was interested in coming here. The question was always the cost, and we overpaid.

That's always been the issue. The Suns sold their past, present and future in the trade for Durant. That's why it was such a horrible trade.

It’s a good trade had we been able to keep Cam out of it. In that Denver series our wings couldn’t hit a 3. Book and KD were doing everything but it was brick city by the role players.

Ross 6-22
Warren 1-7
Okogie 0-6
Craig 1-7
Lee 1-9

Jordan Ott was at Michigan State for five years. He served as the program's video coordinator while earning a master's degree in athletic administration.

Correct. He was literally part of the Michigan state basketball program for five years.

This hire will prob hurt book remain yrs with suns awwwww well:(((((

For some reason, Jordan Ott reminds me a bit of Ryan McDonough who drafted Devin Booker.

Of course, their positions are different. Maybe it's because they both spent a lot of time in the film room.
