Leaning right into it, huh? This is the most amateur hour front office I can remember. The Ishbia era started out with such promise.

I feel bad for Ott. He had similar qualifications as Bryant but since he went to Ishbia's alma mater, he's now got a higher bar to clear.

Time will tell if it was the right call.
Similar, but Bryant was clearly further along, and held the role of associate head coach. Seems like Sparty was the tiebreaker!

Here's a good article that talks about Ott's candidacy as a head coach here from 5 days ago. I wouldn't say he's unqualified but definitely questionable.

Love the logo they made for the team.

It’s going to be hard. I know, but try to keep the personal attacks out of this.

So, the less qualified guy (note NOT UNQUALIFIED)with MSU ties gets it, huh? Sigh.

Man do I hope to be proven wrong but Ish is making this look like a clown car operation.

I do like that Ott is young, has assistant coach experience and has worked in the video room.

IMO, studying film on players is underrated. One can learn a lot about players skills and weaknesses doing this.

Hopefully it can help when the draft rolls around.

On the other hand, it feels like the Suns scrimped on the GM and head coach position.

We need to get a picture of Jordan Ott in this thread.

I believe Spoelstra came up as a video coordinator for the Heat and his success changed how those positions are now viewed in the NBA.

I hope for the best from this but have some reservations, obviously. He checks basically all the boxes people had for the next coach though in that he's experienced, young, has worked with winning programs, knows the value and responsibilities of many coaching positions, and has been looking to make the leap from assistant to head coach. The Michigan State thing is something that can't be overlooked though.

I very much dislike this hire, especially with my top choice Johnnie Bryant sitting right there. With that being said, I wish Ott all the success in the world. I hope both Gregory and Ott prove me wrong and I get to eat crow in the future.

If we wanted to go into the offseason with a lot of uncertainty... MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

Then again, going the established route hasn't worked all that well recently.

My biggest concern at the moment, is Brian Gregory prepared to deal with trades, the draft and free agency?

That's a full plate and much more.

The one thing I continually don’t get is radio guys saying “well, you gotta give Ish the benefit of the doubt”… uh…. Why? He got that after the KD trade… he may have even gotten that after the Vogel hire/fire… but after consecutive HC firings in back to back seasons, he doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt.
