Rick Majerus?

The biggest reason I don't like Rick Majerus is because he doesn't run a clean program and is a complete a-hole.

Has he ever had a "Miles Simon" in his program?

Funny. You actually trust an the article whose only source seems to be Fatjerus himself over an actual NCAA investigation which resulted in serious punishment.

And you can equate Stoops to Majerus all you want. But unlike Majerus, Stoops has never been punished by the NCAA for recruiting violations or giving money to his players.

Those scholarships at UA were lost because the graduation rate was low under John Mackovic, not Mike Stoops.

As for Majerus, why don't you read the flipping article before you accuse someone of making "stuff up"? Here's an excerpt because you are obviously too lazy, or filled with Majerus-love to read the entire thing.

Among violations listed were players receiving extra complimentary tickets to games, recruiting visits that were allowed to last too long, and Majerus watching recruits play in pickup games during campus visits.
The violations led to three years of NCAA probation for the Ute team.
It also led to freezing of Hill's salary for a year and the proposed freezing of Majerus' salary for two years, which was cut short when he resigned six months later. A men's basketball scholarship was cut, and four administrators or assistant coaches were fired or quit.
A report by the university's Office of General Counsel said that while Majerus had much success and did much that was commendable, "It is clear to the university that Majerus and the men's basketball program have committed too many violations of the rules. Majerus has often indicated he did not know of violations within his department." The report called for the coach to recommit to obeying the rules.
Majerus told NCAA investigators in an interview, "I'm not as familiar with the rules as I should be."

Sounds like a great candidate! Would you let your son play for Majerus? I wouldn't.

After reading all of the comments by U of A fans, i really have come to the conclusion where all the hatred towards Majerus comes from. You all are realizing that this hiring will immediately lessen the gap between ASU and UofA basketball. Majerus took a bunch of lowly recruited players to the finals of the NCAA tourney. The man knows talent and can just get it done on the coaching side. Im sure some of you wildcat fans will rip on me for this post, but the truth is deep inside you are starting to worry and i dont blame you.

Before you genuises start running your mouths before Majerus has gotten a recruit let alone won a game, you should know that Lute has more talent already committed to play for Arizona through the rest of the decade than Majerus could ever dream of. Think I'm being homeristic? Ask the local UCLA fan and he will confirm that.

And I'm willing to bet anyone that Lute will be coaching at Arizona longer than Majerus is coaching at ASU.

Ha. I'd be more worried about ASU catching up to Arizona had Lisa Love hired Randy Bennett or Mark Turgeon. ASU will only be better for next couple years until Fatjerus retires, dies, or leaves because the program is facing probation.

Wow, on top of feeding players, giving players movie money, and holding practices which were too long...he gave players tickets, didn't cut recruiting visits short, AND watched recruits play in pickup games?!
