ASU could probably find a couple dozen high school coaches in Arizona that could do better than Steve Lavin. He's the college basketball equivalent of Dave McGinnis: nice guy who relates well to the media but can't coach his way out of paper bag or develop elite talent to save his life.

As bad as Lavin is he is def. a step up for the morass that is ASU basketball....at least he can recruit...

After disgraceful exits from a job, its common for a guy to go to a school with little or no tradition in the sport to revive his career....

George O'leary went to UCF, Matt Doherty went to FAU, Mike Price went to UTEP...
