Diamondback Jay
Psalms 23:1
What's known is the Reds, Diamondbacks and Rays have swung a trade and Ryan Hannigan is one piece going to Tampa. More to come as info develops.
1:32pm: Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic tweets that Heath Bell appears to be involved in the trade, though he's not sure which team would be acquiring the right-hander.
1:41pm: Piecoro adds that in order to shed the remainder of Bell's contract, the Diamondbacks are giving up something of value instead of taking on another bad contract (Twitter link).
Nick Piecoro @nickpiecoro 2m Lefty David Holmberg is also involved in this deal.Expand Collapse Reply Retweet Retweeted
Nick Piecoro @nickpiecoro 1m RT @JackMagruder #Dbacks Heath Bell "I'm heading off to tampa."
I'm going to withhold judgement as of now till seeing what's going to be coming back in return. I sure as hell hope its going to be someone of value coming here.

Dbacks likely to acquire Randy Choate and definitely will get a player to be named later
WOW, a 38 year old average RP.
.Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 1m #DBacks get RHP Justin Choate, player to be named, per source. Bell, Hanigan, $$$ to #Rays, Holmberg to #Reds, Choate and PTBN to #DBacks.

Make that Justin Choate not Randy.
BIIIIIG Difference, Gambo.
After his sophomore season at Texarkana in 2011, Choate committed to Stephen F. Austin State University, a Division I member of the Southland Conference.
This spring as a senior, Choate went 5-2 with a 3.93 ERA, mostly as a starter, but he did not hear his name called during the draft.
"I was expecting to get drafted in the 20th to 30th round by Cleveland," he said. "Two days before the draft I got a call saying they were going to pick me, but I never got the call. I went to a Rays' tryout and Pat Murphy, the scout, really liked me. I went and played three days of indy baseball until I actually got a phone call."
Choate was briefly a member of the Roswell (N.M.) Invaders of the Pecos League before he learned he was being assigned to Hudson Valley.
So we gave away Holmberg just to rid ourselves of Heath Bell?
Kevin Towers is shortening my life.

Right! Sometimes you got to see the forest, we saved big bucks to free up cash.Huh?? Sure... because Holmberg was our ticket to the championship, right?
