The Baltimore Ravens have enough talent on the edge to build one of the AFC’s more dangerous pass-rush rotations, but training camp and the preseason will determine which players can turn potential into dependable Week 1 roles.

Trey Hendrickson

Hendrickson changes the entire conversation. His arrival gives Baltimore a proven finisher who can command attention, draw protection help, and set the standard for the rest of the room. Hendrickson, 31, posted 17.5 sacks in back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024, leading the league in 2024. Since 2021, Hendrickson has ranked second in the NFL in pressure rate (13.2%) and fourth in sacks (61). The Ravens do not need Hendrickson to prove he belongs, but his presence raises the urgency for everyone around him. If Baltimore can pair his production with reliable pressure from its younger rushers, the defense can become far more difficult to handle on third down and in late-game situations.

Mike Green

Green enters camp with one of the clearest opportunities to prove he can become more than a developmental pass-rush piece. His explosiveness gives the Ravens a different element off the edge, but he must show that he can win with a plan, hold up against the run, and avoid becoming a situational player who only appears in obvious passing situations. Baltimore needs young rushers who can handle complete defensive responsibilities, not just flash in isolated moments.

Tavius Robinson

Robinson also has something to prove because his size, length, and experience in the system give him a path to meaningful snaps. Robinson has the tools to be a physical edge-setter and rotational pressure player, but the Ravens need more consistent disruption. If he takes another step, he can help stabilize the group behind Hendrickson and give Baltimore a sturdier option against bigger personnel.

Zion Young

Young may be the most intriguing name on the bubble of the rotation. His size, speed, power, and motor give him traits worth developing, and he has already shown enough to make the summer interesting. The challenge is proving that effort can translate into a defined role. Young must show he can set the edge, rush with discipline, and finish plays when opportunities arrive.

Final analysis

Baltimore’s pass rush does not need one young player to solve everything. It needs several players to make the rotation deeper, faster, and more physical. Hendrickson gives the Ravens a top-end answer, but Green, Robinson, and Young can determine whether the group becomes a true strength before Week 1.
