The Baltimore Ravens enter training camp with one of the NFL’s deeper defensive rosters, which means several talented players will face a difficult path to the 53-man roster.

That is the reality for bubble defenders trying to carve out roles in a defense loaded with established veterans, young draft picks, and developmental prospects. Baltimore has enough competition at edge rusher, linebacker, cornerback, and defensive line to make final cuts uncomfortable, and players such as Adisa Isaac, Kaimon Rucker, Carl Jones Jr., Amani Oruwariye, Bilhal Kone, Jahquez Robinson, and Aaron Graves will need more than quiet consistency to stick.

Isaac may be one of the most notable names on the defensive bubble because of the crowded edge picture. The Ravens have Trey Hendrickson, Mike Green, Tavius Robinson, Zion Young, and other pass-rush options competing for snaps, leaving Isaac with pressure to show he can rush with power, set the edge, and contribute on special teams. Rucker faces a similar challenge. He must prove his motor, physicality, and pass-rush tools can translate quickly enough to earn trust in a crowded rotation.

Jones is fighting in a linebacker room where special teams value could be the deciding factor. For a backup linebacker, defensive snaps are rarely guaranteed, so he must show range, tackling reliability, and the ability to cover kicks. That is often the clearest path for players trying to win the final spots on a deep defense.

The cornerback battle will also be difficult. Oruwariye brings veteran experience, but Baltimore has several younger defensive backs pushing for roles. Kone and Robinson must show they can handle coverage assignments, tackle in space, and provide immediate value on special teams. In a secondary with Marlon Humphrey, Nate Wiggins, Chidobe Awuzie, T.J. Tampa, and other young options, every practice rep will matter.

Graves faces a numbers game on the defensive line. The Ravens have proven veterans and young interior defenders ahead of him, so his path depends on physicality, gap discipline, and showing enough disruption to make the coaching staff think twice.

For Baltimore’s bubble defenders, training camp is not just about making plays. It is about creating a clear role. The players who can defend, tackle, cover kicks, and handle multiple assignments will have the best chance to survive final cuts.
