And hasnt even won a playoff game in 3 years, while Mitchell has taken his team to the playoffs all of the last three years, into the semifinals and conference finals the last two seasons.

Not to mention Mitchell has shown the ability to take any terrible franchise he’s been the leader of to the playoffs every year of his career, while Booker has only done so 4 out of 9 years.

Booker wasn't the leader all those years and Mitchell was never really on a garbage team since he regularly has had a DPOY big next to him in Gobert and now Mobley. Swap them and Cleveland is probably a few wins better and the Suns a little worse.

That's great and all, but a) Mitchell never played with the Wolves. And b) He consistently got the Jazz to the playoffs, in the much tougher West and got Jazz to the second round a couple times, as a #1 (Booker has never even won a game in the playoffs as the #1 of his team and even missed the playoffs two years ago). Hell, Mitchell even got the Jazz to the playoffs as a rookie, when everyone thought the team was left for dead after it's star Heyward, left in FA... and then he kept them there for his entire run and then they completely bottomed out and haven't been heard from since.
I'm not sure why, but you are still perpetuating the thinking that Chris Paul was the #1 in 2021? That is simply not true. Yes, Book is flawed, but he was the #1 on the team in 2021.

Book was the best scorer but CP3 was the best player. He was our quarterback and received first place MVP votes that year.

CP3 was 5th in MVP votes. How many did Booker get? None.

CP3 was 2nd team All NBA. What All-NBA team did Book make? None.

CP3 wasn’t just the best player on the team, he was deemed one of the top 5 - 10 players in the entire league in 2021.

I mean, saying Book was the number one would be like saying Amare was the number one of the Nash teams because he scored the most points.

And I still think Devin is overpaid - as are most of the higher paid NBA players. That isn't a rant against high salaries or a tirade against celebrities in general. I just think that thanks to the Supermax rules the league lost sight of the actual comparative value of players. The truly elite probably can carry a team enough to warrant such a huge chunk of the payroll but that's not true for the vast majority of stars. And in today's NBA I'd rather have an average shooting guard making 20M per than a Booker level player making 50M or more.

The market determines what a player is paid. It is what it is.

But the market changes. I am not sure any other team but the Suns would give him that extension today.

Of course the market changes. It's what a team will pay. The CBA has made a huge impact on this.

One player is not a team - unless the player is Michael Jordan or a top 10 player of all time, and Mitchell is no Jordan.

Clearly Cleveland has had better talent than the Suns the last 3 years. That said Devin did play pretty awful last year for the standard he previously set.

Book finished 4th in 2022 and was All NBA. We saw a changing of the guard happen in real time here and i believe it took place when CP3 missed the beginning of the Clippers series in 2021.
