MESA! :thud:
Saddest most tear jerking movie ever made. JMHO.
My ex had to walk out of the theater towards the end. He just couldn't take it.

Our daughter was just a year old at the time, and his dad died when my ex was 18...it was just too hard to watch.

I'm talking about the part with the elder Jim Ryan when he basically asks his wife if he has earned the life he led...not the storming of Omaha beach.

That is an emotional scene...

So, a lot of men have been saying Field of Dreams. I totally agree, but WHY?

I cried (and it has been a long time since seeing it) because the boy just wanted to play Baseball with his father... That is is. The only reason is because I WANTED to play ball with my father and so did he....

Its a father/son thing.

Remember that Costner is talking to his father's "ghost" and it appears his dad is oblivious to who he is....

As his father is walking away, he gets up the nerve to say..

"Dad..."

"Yeah."

"Wanna have a catch?"

Gets me everytime.

Rudy does too.

The Notebook?

I can't remember laughing as hard as I did when the old battle axe starts attacking the old man. That was comedy at its best. Although the overall film ranks right up there with the classics such as Superstar, Big Man on Campus, and the Karate Kid 4: The Next Karate Kid. How a movie that completely gives itself away half way in manages to get a following is beyond me. But when the geritol woman beats the old man that was beyond hilarious. I hope thats not the part where we were supposed to cry.
