Should be noted Wilson and McBride are doing this with opponents knowing we have no threat of running.
And a continuation of the cardinals culture we all know and "love." Pay Wilson what his performance is dictating and make Marv earn his next contract. If we demure on a Wilson extension, because we have to extend a Harrison a year later... only to watch Wilson go ham on another roster, and Harrison to stay generally mediocre... that would be a disaster.
I guess my question is: is McBride really the #1 when MHJ is out? Hasn’t Wilson gotten more targets, receptions and yards than McBride over those three games? If so, it causes me to question McBride being the #1. That’s not denigrating McBride. He’s absolutely the best receiving te in the league right now. But legit asking, if he’s the number receiving option when we’ve seen a different fact set and he’s not.The team will start two WRs and a TE who will get 70% + snaps almost every week. Trey is the #1 option and the other two will battle to make plays off of the coverage McBride pulls. Both get moved around a lot. What does it matter who is #1?
The Cardinals have the best TE in the league and two good WRs (even if they are a bit redundant). The only issue is finding ways to get them all involved. Petzing sucks tho and doesn't seem capable of that which is why he likely is not an OC in the future.
They said on the broadcast Sunday that Petzing told them he has to make McBride the primary target on 60% of playcalls (may be wrong about the exact number could have been 40%). Yes Michael Wilson is getting more looks because teams are scheming to take McBride away.I guess my question is: is McBride really the #1 when MHJ is out? So it begs the question, why isn’t MHJ producing at this level when other teams attempt to do so to McBride also? That’s what they’re doing with Trey McBride and why he only got five receptions yesterday my man
Good questionSo it begs the question, why isn’t MHJ producing at this level when other teams attempt to do so to McBride also?
Because when MHJ was playing we were also running the ball more, is my guess. Fewer opportunities to go around in closer game scriptsSo it begs the question, why isn’t MHJ producing at this level when other teams attempt to do so to McBride also?

I think Jacoby just knows what open in the NFL is. Kyler refuses to throw on time/rhythm, or throw anybody open. If he doesn't see them open he's not throwing it, and by then their not open any more. IMOThat's part of it but IMO Wilson just gets open more often and when he's not open he's better at just getting the ball. If Marv was as competitive going for the ball as Mike is he'd be an elite WR, he's just not competitive.
5 years, $110million?? $40mil guaranteed? And a continuation of the cardinals culture we all know and "love." Pay Wilson what his performance is dictating and make Marv earn his next contract.
Letting draft position dictate playing time fits far too well for a organization that tends to let the draft be its high point of every season.
could just be QB preference. Many view the TE as more of a safety net and not a primary target...I guess my question is: is McBride really the #1 when MHJ is out? How certain people fail to recognize this and indeed often rail against this reality is astounding.I think Jacoby just knows what open in the NFL is. How did you come up with 1130 yards? Wilson currently has 766 receiving yards, so he would need 364 receiving yards in 3 games. That would be about 121 receiving yards per game. He's currently averaging 54.7 yards per game for the season overall.90 catches
1130 yards
5 TD's
looks like thats how Wilson projects to finish the season. possibly a bit higher because the season averages are based on the entire season and not just since kyler has been out or Marv has been out.
roughly 24 more catches at about 11.3 yds per catch...and likely 1 more TD
IIRC I think I took his average per catch of roughly 11.2 and multiplied it by his average catches per game over the past five weeks of 8 catches per game then multiplied it by the number of remaining games...and averaged it all out because it was head mathHow did you come up with 1130 yards?
