Washington Nationals players voted against going to Miami to this weekend following the Marlins' COVID-19 outbreak, sources confirm to ESPN. The league, as
@Ken_Rosenthal
said, will make the ultimate determination, but hard to see it going against the will of the players.

Why doesn't MLB just do the inevitable and shut it down for the year?

They're not playing in a bubble.

Just as so many other, and more important, things have been shut down.

It sucks! But we're fighting a worldwide pandemic.

And our country is in the worst shape of any due to its stubbornness.

BTW, MLB announced that players are not allowed to spit.

In the D-backs-Rangers game, the Rangers catcher lifted his mask and spit.

And the umpire, who was looking right at him, did nothing.

Oh well, at least the ump didn't lift his mask and spit, too. :(

Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara is among the 15 Miami players who are positive. Marlins are at a real pitching deficit. Have already claimed 3 pitchers. Need more (especially ones ready to pitch in bigs right away)
