Bring it on lil boy
kyler murray lost his job to a less talented back up who cares more about football - to a back up who isn't afraid to stay in the pocket and who's a better leader than he is and kyler knows it - it's why kyler never fought to get his job back - like how he never fought to get the ball back when it bounced off his face

It'll be interesting to see if Murray is willing to accept a backup role om another team. Darnold, Jones, Mayfield, Jameis, Marriota, Zach Wilson, Trubisky, were all top 10 picks that became backups.
It doesn't seem like he has the temperament to be a backup.
Never happening his ego wouldn't allow him to humble himself to hold the clip board. He truly believes he is one of top qbs in the league. Same reason he won't get a qb trainer.

I'm beginning to wonder if he can truly see so much in his head if he can't see the only superstar he will ever become is that of clipboard commander. Which isn't the worst thing.

I hope we can trade him.

But, for what?

That is a whole separate conversation.

His contract is ugly, the entire league knows we will cut him if we can't find a trade partner.

His 2027 money is not guaranteed... as long as he's cut before next season starts, obviously a team trading for him won't cut him, so they're taking on a big chunk of money for 2027 too.

Salary cap stuff is murky to me, but unless we eat a huge chunk of his contract, he isn't going to have any trade value. How much is a 2nd or 3rd round pick worth? Eating 20 million of Kyler's deal?

Yuck.
I just listened to a really interesting podcast about this and it’s not as bad as you think. The Cardinals are already committed to paying 30+ million in salary for Kyler next year. That is a sunk cost. The key date is March 5. That is when his 2027 salary will become guaranteed. If he is on the roster, they’re looking at another 20+ million dollars for him. What I found most interesting was cutting him before March 5 would only incur an additional salary cat hit of 1.5 million. The Cardinals are currently $15 million below the cap. So the Cardinals could absolutely cut him and just eat a big chunk of salary next year. They have 51 players under contract in 2026 and that’s before they cut or restructure someone like Connor. The broncos ate way more than that when they released Wilson. If they find a trade partner, then that number can go down.

The real question is can Bidwill avoid the sunk cost fallacy and realize that 30 million is gone whether Kyler is on the team or not. To your point the Cardinals are going to have to eat a significant chunk of his 2026 salary to move him. The big gamble for the team that would acquire Kyler is whether he would stay healthy and warrant committing 20 million in their salary cap to him in 2027. I think the Vikings, falcons and Steelers are the best options. The jets are going to be paying both Rodger’s/fields, the raiders have Genos huge deal, browns still are dealing with Watsons deal and the dolphins have a tua mess. Unless you want to swap problems those teams are prob out.

How are the Steelers a smart team?
I guess my opinion would be that they have a long history of being good at football and their owners are widely respected as some of the best in the league.

I get that they have been mediocre the past few years but consider that mostly recency bias. They are literally playing for first place in their division tomorrow with three week left to go after this week. That has to mean a little bit. But I do get your point.

The Talking Heads released their hit song “Same As It Ever Was” back in 1981.

The same year Big Red finished 7-9 and out of the playoffs.

Fast forward to 2025.

Kyler Murray is done for the season.

The Cardinals playoff chances are done for the season.

Optimism about the future is done for the season.

I wonder what the Cardinals talking heads will be singing once this mess of a season is finally over.

I don’t care what it cost. It’s time to move on. The Steelers are a very logical place as long as we don’t ask for the world in return.

Their current owner is soft and edging towards incompetence--and is incompetent in his corporate life, so I am told. They have been mediocre for 8 years, not just the past few years, and that selfsame owner keeps saying "We've had some success around here" despite that. The fact is that he considers near .500 ball and sneaking into the playoffs now and again to get battered "success."

Fair enough. As long as we can get a solid price..... All are welcome!

Using the last two trade packages KD has pulled in, I'd like to be closer to the Nets than the Suns. Is that too much to ask!!!??? :lol:

Kyler Murray's career as a Cardinals QB:

Best in Cardinals History:

Completion % = 67.1
Quarterback rating = 92.2

Second in Cardinals History:
Completions = 1,974

Third in Cardinals History (Number one in Arizona History)
TDs = 121
Yards = 20,460

His career interceptions are 60. The only Cards QBs out of their top eight with fewer INTs are Palmer who had 57 and Warner who had 59. But Kyler had roughly 800 more passing attempts than either.

Do with those numbers what you will. To me it looks more like a sad sack franchise than a sad sack QB dragging a team down.
It’s both. It’s just both.

Honestly.... This is more an indictment of our futility than it is of Kyler's greatness.

Not from me (I'm kind of a **** when it comes to football).

He becomes the enemy as soon as he no longer wears our uniform, and I just wish we would get this last part over with as soon as possible.
Wow. Even I’ll wish him luck. Just not against us. That’s quite the 180 from you crimson.

I mean, surgery . . .

Context . . .
He said even if in a wheelchair Burrows would play because he is tough, so in this particular case, context does not matter. Which is funny because Burrows has only had a single season in which he played every game.

Do I think Burrows is a tough player, absolutely, but he misses games as often as Kyler. He has missed 24 games in 6 years or 4 games a year vs Kyler of missed 16 in his first 6 years or 2.6 a year. Even is you add the 7 missed this year, that is 23 in 7 years, which is still just 5.75 games a year. So it was a silly comparison, especially considering Burrows has a grade 3 turf toe and ain't nobody playing on that, not even the toughest version of Macaulay Culkin!

Last question, if he is so tough, why did he get surgery and not just play through the turf toe? According to many here, it's not that bad of an issue.

Reminds me of Rome Odunze telling the talking heads that he wanted to be the Bears best WR ever. Then he was shocked to learn that it would only take a little over 5,000 yards to do that.

Bears all-time WR: Johnny Morris, 1958-67 5,059 yards.

The podcast guys are saying that something happened that will come out in the offseason when all the dust clears. No idea what it could be though.

My first guess is the WRs may have revolted against Kyler. They were simply not getting the ball, especially Wilson, before Jacoby replaced Kyler. Just a guess though, I have zero inside info.
