While there are question abound for the Arizona Cardinals defense, a key piece could be healthy heading into the season, and that would actually be shocking.

Garrett Williams tore his achilles in December, but after unfortunate news on the injury front for rookie Kaleb Proctor, they Cardinals got some “Great News” about Williams.

Williams was one of the best slot corners in the NFL in 2024, and his play, combined with a number of injury issues, was one of the key problems for the Arizona Cardinals defense in 2025.

The plan right now is that veteran Sean Murphy-Bunting would be the slot guy, while Williams works his way back from injury.

However, Williams will start training camp on the PUP and have to work his way to game one. That would be a huge turnaround for Williams, and in a contract year, he feels like he needs a full season of success to get that long-term deal.
