On Saturday, the Suns play their home opener when the Jazz visit.

The Suns (1-1) split two games on the road, beating the Warriors and losing to the Lakers.

Hopefully the Suns get at least one of Booker or Beal back from injury, preferably both.

When: Saturday 28, 2023

Television: Suns Live, AZ Family 3TV / AZ Family Sports Network 44, NBA TV

Radio: KMVP 98.7 / S: KSUN

Time: 7 PM Arizona time

I'm just hoping there is nothing seriously wrong with Devin Booker. As I understood the announcers, there was soreness in the middle of the foot. I hope the MRI comes out clean.

They also said he felt good enough that he wanted to play but was forced to sit out. I'm concerned, but not worried.

1) He still wanted to play
2) He didn't get sent back to Phx for an MRI immediately
3) He didn't get an MRI in LA either

Those three things give me a little bit of hope.

What gives me pause about “wanting to play” is that we know Devin always wants to play and we saw him come back early last year because of that inner drive and he was amazing, scorching the Pelicans for 58 … but his body clearly wasn’t ready and he reinjured himself in that game, putting himself out a full month longer.

Also, if it’s a sprain, there’s nothing really to do but rest so there’s no rush to getting the MRI if they didn’t plan to play him last night. It’s not like he’d be casted or on crutches if the MRI comes back bad.

I'm not sure why you're arguing against this. An MRI could be precautionary, but why wait? At least there will be more information. And he wasn't on crutches or in a boot yesterday at the game either.

Forget it, Chap. Apparently I’m not allowed to disagree with you, so we can just end this here.

Don't be such a baby, cheese. We're not fighting, we're not even disagreeing, you are trying to prove me wrong, and that's ok and a good premise for a discussion. If you're more cynical than I am, that's fine.

Taking your ball and going home isn't very sporting.

A follow-up to the above, worded slightly different.

Was back always the nagging issue for Beal or is this new fun for us to have to deal with?

Looks like it’s a relatively new issue. Yay.

I knew he was injured a lot the last two years, but after reading this, that 19.5 over/under ain’t looking as ridiculous as first thought.

This appears to be when Devin Booker was injured in the Warriors game.

The Jazz beat the Clippers in Utah on Friday, 120-118.

Looking at the boxscore it doesn’t make much sense. The Clippers shot 41-77 and the Jazz 42-96. The Jazz only made two more 3’s and the Clipps made more FT’s. Both teams had 14 turnovers.

It looks like the Jazz benefited from 11 more offensive rebounds.

Devin Booker and Bradley Beal weren't even on the practice court when media began viewing after shootaround.
