Diamondbacks hitters have an OPS+ of 102 which obviously by definition is mundane but you can win plenty of games with that. Division leaders San Francisco and Washington are at 104 and 101 respectively. It's the pitching that's sinking them. ERA+ of 91.

True, but take out Miller and that team ERA doesn't look so bad. Greinke's ERA+ isn't outside the bounds of a career, but is on the low end.

Same with Goldy who put up a 156 OPS+ last half of 2015 and is putting up a 146 OPS+ this first half. Within bounds, but on the low end.

The BP has been just as good if not better so far than last year too.

This is just a mediocre team.

Our major problem is the starting rotation.

Greinke needed some time to adjust. And now he has. Miller was a bad decision on the part of the Front Office, coming here with a history of not knowing how to win. And the rest (two of whom are out injured) are very inconsistent.
