2021 - Prove It
Apparently. I was going more for the try hard, run stopping effort DL that you want as a cheap player in your rotation. The Monti/Gannon type?

It's less a comment on Mustipher than on Robinson.Again, there is nothing "interesting" about a 26 year old (on 11/10), journeyman DL who doesn't rush the passer. It's a nice pickup and if he can be the 1 mil version of Bilal Nichols, that is great. Nothing "interesting" tho.
I agree Robinson has not shown much, and we both know potential is just something that hasn't happened yet. Mine was nit picking the interesting verbiage Brit used. Mustipher is about as interesting as watching paint dry. That doesn't mean he isn't a decent rotation player which I think we agree on.It's less a comment on Mustipher than on Robinson.
He can - that's why paying non-starting rotation players actual money in FA is crazy. Nichols is utterly replaceable at a fraction of the cost. It's a nice pickup and if he can be the 1 mil version of Bilal Nichols, that is great.
I like Stills, and have said so, but I have never said that. For a sixth round pick, he is terrific. But I keep it in that context.Don't tell some people on the board this - to them, he's the next Zach Allen!
Franchise filling roster with real man tshirt models who try hard. Ugh!Again, there is nothing "interesting" about a 26 year old (on 11/10), journeyman DL who doesn't rush the passer. It's a nice pickup and if he can be the 1 mil version of Bilal Nichols, that is great. Nothing "interesting" tho.

I did and I'll say it again. Dante Stills is off to a better start in his career than Zack Allen and has out preformed him in their first 3 years. And the same people saying he's a JAG and only worth a few million will also complain when he signed for $10-$12 million a year else where.I like Stills, and have said so, but I have never said that. For a sixth round pick, he is terrific. But I keep it in that context.
Any stat that indicates that Dante Stills is better than Zach Allen is absolutely lying to you. No NFL front office will agree with you - just wait.Stats don't lie, years 1-3 compared. And Dante Stills has 11 games to play in his 3rd season. Dante also plays inside, which makes these numbers even better.
Dante is going to get $10-$12 million a year from somebody and when the Cardinals refues to pay it, many folks will complain about the Cardinals being cheap and letting talent go.

Those stats show Zach Allen was replaceable?Any stat that indicates that Dante Stills is better than Zach Allen is absolutely lying to you. No NFL front office will agree with you - just wait.
Most posters here at the time agreed, but it’s more fun to use his success once he left to dunk on MontiThose stats show Zach Allen was replaceable?
:ducks:
Oh, I agree that Stills is going to get paid. It will make sense for us to extend him since we have several old guys on the Dline. If you asked me who would be better on the field this Sunday, I would say Allen. But the way you are comparing the first three years does make sense that they are comparable.I did and I'll say it again. Dante Stills is off to a better start in his career than Zack Allen and has out preformed him in their first 3 years. And the same people saying he's a JAG and only worth a few million will also complain when he signed for $10-$12 million a year else where.
It's fun to run with that narrative, but many of us recognized that Allen was young and improving, and now he's one of the best DT's in the league. Good franchises don't let promising young talent walk! Most posters here at the time agreed, but it’s more fun to use his success once he left to dunk on Monti
No. You are missing the difference. Allen should have been re-signed because of his indicator stats.Stats don't lie, years 1-3 compared. And Dante Stills has 11 games to play in his 3rd season. Dante also plays inside, which makes these numbers even better.

Just read my posts. They won't lead you astray. Most posters here at the time agreed, but it’s more fun to use his success once he left to dunk on Monti
We paid $8 million a year to 28 year old Bilal Nichols, who plays the same position, but with worse numbers compared to Stills first 3 years, was a 5th round pick, but he fell off in LV after leaving Chicago. Durable and productive IDL are not that easy to find. I am willing to avatar bet Still makes more than $10 million a year with his next deal and people are bitch and moan we let him walk.I like you @PDXChris but if someone wants to pay 27 year old Dante Stills 10+ and he is not generating 20+ pressures, you let them sign him and take the comp pick.
Williams penetration is the difference. It’s more disruptive.Heck, Milton Williams got $25 million a year. Still still have 11 games to play this year too.

I'm not saying they are the same. There is a reason Milton got $25 million, but is he worth $25 million. It Milton can get $25 a year, Stills can get $10 million. Milton is also better against the run.Williams penetration is the difference. It’s more disruptive.
The answer is you don’t pay either of these players that money. You draft another one in the mid rounds or sign the equivalent ala PJ Mustipher. We paid $8 million a year to 28 year old Bilal Nichols, who plays the same position, but with worse numbers compared to Stills first 3 years, was a 5th round pick, but he fell off in LV after leaving Chicago. Durable and productive IDL are not that easy to find. I am willing to avatar bet Still makes more than $10 million a year with his next deal and people are bitch and moan we let him walk.
Would you rather have Stills at $10 million or Bilal at $8 million? As shown with Bilal and even Cleveland with Watson, it only takes one GM. Hopefully our DL improves and we are not put in that spot so an another team overpays and we get that comp pick. But as of today Still is one of our most durable and most consistent IDL players.
Plus isn’t very twitchy or have a quick get off. He looks every bit the bust he’s been so far even on limited snaps. I can’t recall 1 single flash play yet when I thought he could be a big contributorWilliams penetration is the difference. It’s more disruptive.
I think this is giving him too much credit. He’s Wendell Bryant level bad.He continues to reinforce the idea he’s just a JAG
