Stills is a great value for his round. D Rob so far is just a horrible value.

It's like buying the same thing on Amazon and Temu and the Temu one is much better

@ASUCHRIS if the Cardinals refuse to pay Stills 4 @ $40 million and he leaves, are you going to laugh? Nope, you'll blame Michael for being cheap or Monti for being incompetent. I'll never understand some of you. Dammed if they do, dammed if they don't.

Zach Allen vs Dante Stills. Stills career is off to a better start and he's IDL.

My friend, please remember you're comparing Zach Allen and Dante Stills. These things aren't in the same universe. I wanted to reward Zach Allen because good teams retain their above average players. We failed at that, and he's now one of the best players at his position in football.

Dante Stills is not Zach Allen. The Cards added tons of talent at DT, not having any concern about blocking Dante Stills. Let's see how Stills plays the rest of the year and what he makes. He's a good rotation DT, but to compare him to Allen is ridiculous.

He just did show a comparison to Zach Allen. And a very good one. Looks to be very comparable or ahead in almost every category and we’re just two games into season 3.

CC is 87 years old, Stills is outsnapping Tomlinson, Robinson looks to be a bust, Nolan hasn't taken a snap and Nichols/Jones can't stay healthy. Yeah, let's let Stills walk.

And Stills out performed Allen in their first two years. $10 million for a solid young DT is what Jones and Nichols are each making. Again, I don't understand you.

4 sacks a season is solid for a DT period...especially one that is good versus the run...
Unless he is in a scheme that features interior pass rush...then it's just pretty good.
Dante ain't AD...but he is a legit NFL Starting DT

He is definitely 1 of 1. The wrong 1, but still.

Not to pile on Darius too much, but according to PFF, he is 28 of 159 among defensive linemen in snaps played and 157 of 159 in pass rush rating. That is a bad, bad combo.
Yikes

Worst mistake of the current regime.

Blue chip talent at a key position falls in your lap and you get cute and swap it for a serviceable tackle and a mystery bag... which turns out to be full of poop.
Was it though? I don’t think you want to live in a cardinal world where we don’t have Paris Johnson right now. This offensive line would be in total shambles- especially considering that Hump only lasted one more year and is now a journeyman tackle .

Will Anderson is excellent- I can’t take that away- but I think a foundational LT is arguably more important.

And, on top of that, you let a talented edge rusher later in the round go by you to take a nothing burger. What a crap 1st round that was. No dissing PJJ, but damn.

I was thinking along the same lines GC88!

PJ playing great this year. Close to elite maybe? I'd be super interested to know where everyone thinks he ranks in terms of other LTs in the league. Top 10? Top five? Top three?

It certainly doesn't bring tears to my eyes that we have PJ instead of Will Anderson.

Stills through 2 seasons is basically Zach Allen through 2 seasons.

OK, we'll see what Stills gets offered after this season. If NFL evaluators agree with you guys, he'll surely make more than Allen, right?

You're making arguments up. Where did I say let Stills walk? Stills absolutely has not out performed Allen in their first two years. Allen was getting snaps on a good D and making a difference. Stills was barely in the rotation and considered a legit bubble candidate as recently as last year.

The Cardinals spent HUGE resources at DT both last year and this year. Do you honestly think that happens if they think Stills will be an above average DT?

It's wild that people here want to compare Stills to one of the best DT's in the NFL. Even if you're only focused on their early years, Allen was still the better player. You'll learn that as well when you see what Stills gets offered relative to Allen.
