I agree, but he can’t receive offers from other teams until after his 4th season(2026), correct?

Dante Stills is currently under a four-year rookie contract and will be eligible for unrestricted free agency in March 2027.

OK, we'll see what Stills gets offered after this season. If NFL evaluators agree with you guys, he'll surely make more than Allen, right?

You're making arguments up. Where did I say let Stills walk? Stills absolutely has not out performed Allen in their first two years. Allen was getting snaps on a good D and making a difference. Stills was barely in the rotation and considered a legit bubble candidate as recently as last year.

The Cardinals spent HUGE resources at DT both last year and this year. Do you honestly think that happens if they think Stills will be an above average DT?

It's wild that people here want to compare Stills to one of the best DT's in the NFL. Even if you're only focused on their early years, Allen was still the better player. You'll learn that as well when you see what Stills gets offered relative to Allen.
You laughed at my proposal to extend him after this off season. If we don't extend, he becomes very expensive and Allen part 2. What are you missing here?

Because I think his ceiling is good rotation player but below average starter. Giving guys like that money I always believe to be a mistake. (see Justin Jones/Bilal Nichols).

You and I have fundamentally different evaluations of the two players - you think he's Allen part 2, I don't see it at all.

Answer me this - if the Cardinals thought Stills would be a future above average starter, why would they add Nichols/Jones/Robinson/Tomlinson/Nolen? The future will prove one of us right.

Nichols/Jones/Robinson/Tomlinson/Nolen?
Well, all these guys do not play the same position.

Dalvin & Jones are NTs

Robinson is a DE.

Nolen & Stills are DTs.

Also, really just sounds like a smart team-building to me. One thing I hope this organization does is continue to strengthen the trenches. Imagine having a backup that could actually start on other teams, but he can’t start for his current team because the actual starter is really good?

Jones is as much of a DT as Stills. Maybe Robinson would be more effective as a DT? I'm pleased with the strategy of building through the trenches, although I'm not as enamored with the personnel choices.

Was it though? I don’t think you want to live in a cardinal world where we don’t have Paris Johnson right now. This offensive line would be in total shambles- especially considering that Hump only lasted one more year and is now a journeyman tackle .

Will Anderson is excellent- I can’t take that away- but I think a foundational LT is arguably more important.
Hmm . . .

Will Anderson and Joe alt + we receiver drafted later or signed as free agent

Or

Paris, Darius, Elijah jones and MHJ

As someone here has said, that is Metaverse stuff. How do you know we'd be in a position to draft Alt or still not draft MHJ? And with the Cardinals, is Will Anderson successful here in the first two years with this defense? Lots of what ifs.

Honestly, if Anderson wouldn’t have been successful here, that would just speak incredibly poorly on Monti for somehow finding coaches to stifle that kind of natural talent that burst on the scene immediately and totally turned that defense around, being the key cog in that machine that helped carry the Texans to the playoffs in back to back years.

Robinson has legs. He’s not in the metaverse.

No doubt. I was just responding to someone saying how bad we’d be without Paris. I’m just pointing out it’s not Paris or nothing. There were other avenues for filling Paris’ spot that could’ve been as good, or even better, had we just stood pat, taken Will Anderson and not traded down.

Can you imagine where we’d be without PJJ? We could be 14-22 over the past two-plus seasons!

I am 100% in the re-sign Dante Stills camp.

Don't forget that Zach Allen was playing alongside JJ Watt. That helped him a bunch imo.
He is even better in Denver. One of the best in the NFL. Without JJ who was also in his last season with the team in 2022. The next year we had neither. Horrible asset management.
