Yeah... this is trending in a direction that isn't going to make anyone happy. Totally ineffective and his body is not holding up the punishment of playing inside.

I think he is playing in the wrong position. He should be at edge where he had the most success in college.

I'd have to rewatch and I'm not doing that not crazy but again it seemed like just like Dallas he was playing outside more than inside? I think Nolen has moved D Rob outside.

I didn't really see how he got injured. Definitely sucks 3 pretty tough injuries in 2 years so he's got to stay healthier.

Can't believe we don't have an answer on Nolen yet btw makes me nervous it's not good

The idea of some of these guys playing "fast and violent" or "being disruptive" need to watch the Seattle defense again. Sure, Calais plays with intensity as does Budda but aside from those two, I don't see enough speed or violence.
I was thinking about this last game. The first two years we knew the defense was outgunned. But they played over their heads due to effort. This year... That same hunger is not there this year

I’m affirming he’s on topof my trade list. This is especially tricky since I’m expecting Thompson to leave. Fortunately I think there’s a reasonable chance Baker brings back a third round pick. Since safeties historically drop in the draft, a decent replacement could be secured. Holding Baker longer will only diminish his value.

You mean playing someone out of position from where he had most of his success is a bad thing?

Kinda like playing Hassan Reddick out of position for his first 3 years and then realizing when it's too late that he should have been edge rusher like he did in college.

It’s still erratic but improving. They’ve refined their system and evaluators are more experienced. Most trams view their data.
Most teams use their charting data. I don’t think anyone trusts their grading system. Why would they?

Because it's another set of data that has potential value outside of whatever grading system the team uses? I get not using it as the be all end all, but to dismiss it completely is silly too.

Just because it is different doesn't mean it is good. I struggle to believe that any NFL team is going to elevate some random's determinations of players when they have their own internals scouts to do so. Teams outsource the charting because it is is fairly objective and is easier to get the info that way vs having an intern do it.

My guess is that NFL teams would value PFF's grading system minimally above BritCard's. It's essentially the same thing that he is doing. Invest a lot of time watching the all-22 and making determinations based upon what he is seeing and his general knowledge.

Someone with inside connections is telling you that teams use their data - maybe they also look into BritCard as well?

It might not be as great as internal data, but what if your internal scouts suck? A different set of eyes seems to be something worth considering, but you clearly don't feel the same. PFF grades can be part of an argument but shouldn't be the main argument.

Using bad data (which NFL people call PFF grades without exception that I’ve seen—not broadcasters for whom it’s #content) is worse than using no additional data.

Grading players when you don’t understand the assignment is dumb.
