I feel bad for Sweat, Calais, Stills, etc, in the sense that they can get double teamed & nothing positive will come off of it because Darius cannot get off a block to save his life & when he does, he is so slow with it.

The Rams ran the ball right at him and he was helpless.

Right now Robinson is looking more like Nkemdiche part deux.

No. If Nkemdiche had DRobs effort he would have stuck in the league. DRob is looking like he was grossly over-drafted. He has not been done any favors by playing a different position than the one he had success at in college.

I don't care if people call DRob bad because of his play on the field, but it isn't because he isn't working hard (Bryant/Nkemdiche).

Stupid question, but does this feel like a Haason Reddick situation to you?

I mean...it doesn't. The reason he doesn't get cut is because he is cheap and can eat snaps along the defensive front. He isn't a cuttable player in terms of a 53 man roster. That doesn't mean he should be a starter tho.
He was the best player on the board when picked because he “can eat snaps not a starter”

i think the question on DRob right now is: can he be a contributing player on a playoff team?

Or perhaps a Zaven Collins/Isaiah Simmons situation? (Players drafted without a position playing out of position)
or

he just isnt good enough to be in the NFL

hate to say it, but guys get drafted all the time- even in the first round -- that just arent good enough for one reason or another.

With Hasaan, Zaven and even Isiah -- you saw flashes. While DT is a position that can be hard to "flash" at -- we have seen it from Walter Nolen.

Again the difference is Nkemdiche had issues off the field and reportedly wasn't a hard worker. D Rob is clearly not as good as we were led to believe he looked in camp before he got hurt, but by all accounts he's a hard worker and he has improved. He's just still clearly not good enough to be a "core" guy, he has a role but they have to figure out where they're going to play him. Since Nolen got active D Rob had been playing more DE than DT, against the Rams with Nolen out it seemed to me he was playing inside more and like the rest of them got blown off the ball by the Rams OL.

Darius will be washed out of the league in a couple years.

Switching back to DE will not do anything because he nowhere near has the speed or fluidity to threaten the OT.

I think at this point we better learn our lesson that we shouldn't draft any more swiss army knife/multi position players. It just hasn't worked, and the amount of times we're doing it in the first round is wild.

Guess I should have put more context around my post in that I think Robinson was another wasted 1st round selection that will never live up to his draft position ala Nkemdiche. Nkemdiche never set the world on fire and so far Robinson hasn't done anything to make you go wow, we did right by drafting him where we did. Look at their first two seasons and they run very similar. Maybe Robinson blossoms in his third year but so far he hasn't done anything to make you think he will suddenly make a big jump from where he is now.

I can't agree anymore! Get a player that is great at his position.

This team is so far from the playoffs and with the impeding Murray cap hit they need to go 1 year at a time
there will be no significant Kyler cap hit by releasing or trading him

on the team next year? Kyler hits the cap for $50mm or so

off the team next year? Kyler hits the cap for $52mm max and less if they trade him
