Behind a dominant day from junior Alyssa Carroll, the Adna High School girls basketball team picked up a 54-20 win over Montesano in their penultimate non-league game on Monday night at home.
Carroll finished 9-of-12 from the field and made four free throws for a game-high 22 points while also pulling down 11 rebounds. She wasn't the only one with a double-double on the night. Point guard McKenna Torrey finished with a staggering 17 steals and 13 points.
Adna (10-1) allowed just six points in the first half and ended the night by forcing 41 Bulldog turnovers. Carroll and Ava Humphrey each had four steals on the night. The Pirates shift their focus to C2BL play and face Rainier on Thursday.
"Alyssa Carroll continues to improve everyday and has shown the ability to control the paint the past two weeks," Adna head coach Chris Bannish said. "She is not letting little mistakes compound into bigger ones."
