Down 16 after the opening frame, the Pirates slowly chipped away to eventually tie the game and triumph over Muckleshoot Tribal School 74-70 in overtime on Monday night at home.
This game was put together over the weekend after Adna (5-0) lost two games due to flooding out east. It will face former C2BL foe Kalama on Tuesday night at home.
The Kings came out firing on all cylinders with a 30-point first frame thanks to eight 3-pointers. Adna answered with 26 in the second and won the fourth quarter by two to send the contest into OT. The Pirates had four different players score points in overtime to secure the win.
Grayson Humphrey paced their offense with 25 points and Trevin Salme added 20. Jackson Knittle chipped in 10 to keep Adna with a perfect record.
"We're pretty happy to have found a way to win after that first quarter," Adna head coach Luke Salme said. "We're still struggling in some areas, but we're playing hard and keep finding ways to win close games. That's a huge positive."
