40 year old Cousins will improve that record over 2 years? Cousin is a half measure, commit to youth or commit to riding Brissett until his replacement is on the roster. This probably means going 13-21 over the next two seasons.

I think Cousins can lead us to 7 or more wins in the most likely scenarios but his year.40 year old Cousins will improve that record over 2 years? Cousin is a half measure, commit to youth or commit to riding Brissett until his replacement is on the roster.
Wouldn't put it pas them.omg yes
very odd construction that implies the Cards are the ones trading a 2nd for Kyler
Petzig was calling the plays though. Hopefully ML is significantly better at calling plays and putting JB in position to win? This probably means going 13-21 over the next two seasons.
I’m in the minority in thinking that playcalling was not a primary problem, especially once Brissett was under center.Petzig was calling the plays though. Hopefully ML is significantly better at calling plays and putting JB in position to win?
A non-existent running game was the biggest problem for the offense. Being one dimensional in the NFL never works.I’m in the minority in thinking that playcalling was not a primary problem, especially once Brissett was under center.
Yup, that contract is the main issue. If you can get a 3rd round pick (while eating some of the contract) for him that is good deal in my opinion.I’m not expecting much in return from the team that trades for Kyler.
Well to be fair, there’s a world where he’s like the 15th highest paid QB next year - Which isn’t exactly breaking the bank, but I get why most teams wouldn’t take on his contract. With his resume, or lack thereof to this point, GM’s want to feel like they are always winning the trade, and his contract likely involves too much risk.I don’t really understand this line of thought. I was told by many on this exact board when Kyler signed his extension four years ago that in a few years, his contract would be considered peanuts. That it would be cheap amongst quarterbacks who are the highest paid in the league. Yet now everybody says it’s a deterrent four years later for a trade. Even with the Cardinals, probably going to have to pick up a portion. If a GM likes Kyler and thinks he’s a possible winning quarterback for their organization the contract shouldn’t matter. Especially one that is now “peanuts” this many years later right?
Can’t believe people want Cousins and his 6.4 YPA. We don’t have a back like Bijan for the offense to rely on (2300 yards from scrimmage).Just say no to Cousins. He is ancient and his body has taken a serious beating. There is zero future with Cousins. He would be a total waste of time and money IMO.
When your alternatives are Kyler/Brissett/Mystery vet or rookie, you talk yourself into ideas as ridiculous as Cousins. Can’t believe people want Cousins and his 6.4 YPA. We don’t have a back like Bijan for the offense to rely on (2300 yards from scrimmage).
We already have the non-Bijan Robinson version of Cousins for $8 mil. When your alternatives are Kyler/Brissett/Mystery vet or rookie, you talk yourself into ideas as ridiculous as Cousins.
Except in high leverage situations such as 4th downs (4th worst).I’m in the minority in thinking that playcalling was not a primary problem, especially once Brissett was under center.
Woof. I'd rather Brisket than Cousins. Honestly, why would we do this? (and I hated Brisket this last year)I disagree. You are trying to buy one or two years to develop someone else. Obviously cost is going to matter in comparison to other options but Cousins would be fine provided he doesn't cost 40 mil.
I honestly don't know what you smoke sometimes...I think Cousins can lead us to 7 or more wins in the most likely scenarios but his year.
I’m doubtful that Brissett can lead us to five wins this year.
How about Scotty No!Since we won’t get much for Kyler’s trade…what about keeping him for another year?
I mean what are the options at QB that are better than Kyler for 2026.
I realize LaFleur would have to believe it’s a worthy effort.
Is this wise financially vs. cutting him or trading for a 3rd/4th pick?
We could always trade down in the draft and get some bad teams 2027 1st rd pick then go QB
Shhhhhhh!Hollywood Brown went for a 1 - I think with the QB market being trash both in FA/Draft people might be surprised at the return, and all you need is 1 dumb team!
You're saying you think Brissett is a better starting QB than Cousins at this point? Not sure that's true.I honestly don't know what you smoke sometimes...
It is really irrelevant. If Minnesota finds the cap space he'll be a Viking (again) imo. You're saying you think Brissett is a better starting QB than Cousins at this point? Not sure that's true.
The Vikings are a serious team trying to win - why would they want Cousins? It is really irrelevant. If Minnesota finds the cap space he'll be a Viking (again) imo.
Somewhere in rounds 2 to 5 we are likely to draft a QB. But if ML wants Malik Willis we may make a run at him.
What you are forgetting is that one dumb team was Keim and the Cardinals. I don't think Brown would have fetched a one from any other team.Hollywood Brown went for a 1 - I think with the QB market being trash both in FA/Draft people might be surprised at the return, and all you need is 1 dumb team!
Agreed - but there are other dumb teams! I certainly don't expect a 1st, but maybe a 2nd next year or a pick swap, or a good 3rd?What you are forgetting is that one dumb team was Keim and the Cardinals. I don't think Brown would have fetched a one from any other team.
