Those aren’t ludicrous comparisons. Imagine leading up to the 2017 draft that I don’t want Mahomes because he got blown out by 50 against Iowa State? That is what you sound like right now.

You’re not raining on my parade. I just want you to use more sense & not box-score watch.
I didn't even know the stats exactly until I went and looked them up. I did know they ok to middish, not spectacular. My opinion is based on what I see.

I have watched every Alabama game this year, at least in part.

I have seen Indiana games four times this year and watched Mendoza and thought he was good way before it was cool do so. I even have a post somewhere back in the off-season where I said "Watch out for Indiana. Mendoza was really good at Cal."

They are definitely better than Nussmeier, Allar, Sellers or Leavitt who all started the year more highly touted.

BTW, we are probably wasting our time talking about Simpson in this draft. He probably won't enter this draft. He has started less than one season and QBs with that few of college starts do not have a good record in the draft. I think he is likely to go back to Alabama for one more year and he will make millions for doing so. It is much smarter move for his long term prospects.

When Kyler went down, and Jacoby came in, everybody was acting like all the problems in the world were solved
Unfortunately, Kyler wasn’t even one of the top 10 problems with this team

And no, Jacoby Brissett is not better than Kyler
LITERALLY NOBODY was acting like all the problems were solved. Aside from a couple of blindly fanatical Murray Stans, everybody was simply happy to see the offense working like a professional offense should, and relieved that the false hope of the Murray era is finally coming to an end.

I think the defense is ok despite being too passive imo. That doesn’t mean anyone should stay. The offense being in shambles in year 3 is what should get everyone fired.
Agree on the D side to an extent. We need a few more guys with Darnell Dockett type attitude. Seattle plays with a lot of toughness and wants to punish you especially the front 7

one thing, the 55 yard run by DeMercado if I'm not mistaken it's the exact same play Benson popped for 57 against NO and almost the same one Benson broke the other way for like 40 in the SF game.
I think it's clear the OL coach has to be fired but it's weird we've popped that play or very similar 3 times this year.

I'm still mad at Emari for the Titans play but he is a good player assuming he's back next week, got stepped on on the big run. If we assume Benson is back next week we may finally be somewhat "normal" at RB again. Carter terrifies me in pass pro and Knight is not much better and the number of times he just runs into the pile really bugs me

All of the issues that people complain about with Kyler are still there - Marvin dropping the ball,
Straw man arguments are such a tedious, pointless waste of time.

Nobody blamed Harrison's drops on Murray. People correctly pointed out that with Brissett, the numerous plays where receivers ran one route and the QB seemed to think they were going to run a different route, have come to an end.

Selective memory there. Plenty of people were complaining about Kyler’s ball placement and that’s why Harrison kept dropping balls

No, that’s pretty much about what people were predicting to literally get worked over and predicting Brisette would have no protection and get sacked 8 to 10 times…. People all over this board were saying they fully expect us to get destroyed.
There’s getting destroyed and there’s 28-0 in the first quarter.

What's the last player you can remember that we drafted and improved every year? Trey probably, but pretty thin after that

Paris Johnson?
Michael Wilson? (It’s a stretch)

Demercado is a nice story for an undrafted player I guess…

Who would’ve ever guessed dudes like Fitz, Bolden, Dockett, Dansby, Pat P., Sendlein… would become an extinct race. :(

Yeah he doesn’t have any answers. It’ll be interesting to find out if he believes it’s on him or he’s going after players and assistants behind closed doors.

It definitely feels like he didn’t like losing like that and wasn’t anticipating it.
Yeah, it's frustrating to hear the same thing after losses - just like "the system works". Losing is frustrating in general and getting a total ass-kicking even moreso.

But I don't recall a lot of coaches coming out and explaining exactly what went wrong and who's going to be held accountable, and what's going to change in the post game press conference.

We should expect nothing but coach speak. When people deviate from bland coach speak answers, they get eaten alive - like Tua getting blasted for speaking his mind and airing laundry laundry recently.

At least he's acknowledging that the buck stops with him.

The only way to know what Gannon really thinks is to see what actions are taken in the coming week / weeks. Probably not much can be done at this point to improve things.

A loss is a loss whether you lose by 3 or 22.

Also - threw.

BIM
Please don’t correct my voice to text. It’s really pedantic and no one likes it.

And if you think the loss by three is the same as a loss by 22 as far as the competitiveness of the team, then maybe you should be watching from TV instead of pretending that you’re a better fan because you go to the games

The ball placement was bad because Murray and Harrison never seemed to be on the same page when it came to back shoulder throws, bending routes toward the post or the sideline, etc. Those weren't "drops". The drops were blamed on Harrison.
