Whoever made teh call to kick the ball out of the endzone at the half lost the game. That 3 points meant we needed a TD at the end
That was just really dumb. Scared of a return? Well, if they had NO timeouts with 7 seconds left MAYBE that makes some sense although you obviously think your special teams suck. But with them still having a timeout? No, just no.

Done with Gannon. When you lose 5 straight close games in the NFL it reflects very poorly on the coaching up of the finer points of the game and just an overall indication that something fatally flawed with the team. Guy is supposed to be a defensive guru yet every opposing team is able to put together a final scoring drive on his defense. Not one final stop in the last 5.

Not to mention jacking a guy twice in the chest on the sideline and all of the embarrassing media soundbites. Guy clearly doesn’t have the answers and it’s time to move on at season’s end. Let him wear whatever the record ends up being this year and let’s start all over again. Fun times.

For as crappy/cheap of an owner as Michael Bidwill is, one thing I know is he hates to be embarrassed. Perhaps his pride is stronger than his penny-pinching ways.

We can’t endure a 4th consecutive season of this.

I think they were scared of the scenario that happened at the end of the Seahawks game. You try to squib and miss the landing zone, Packers start on the 40.

kinda crazy to think they have kicked off at the end of a half with :28 and :07 secs left and in both situations, gave up field goals

the reality of this team:

its most glaring flaws get exposed in the 4th quarter:

inability to pressure the passer
inability to protect the passer
un-imaginative play calling

ill go longer form later in the week -- but even in the wins, those three things keep rearing their head and either make wins far closer than they need to be, or, cost them games.

It was over a full yard. Petzing doesn't have a creative/innovative bone in his body. I would rather have seen us run play action and throw to the TE in that situation.
Yes. 100% yes. The Packers were so geared up for that play and it was nearly 2 yards.

you have a QB that was operating at a high level. That is the moment for your best play action concept.

a total lack of imagination

I also thought that the clock management was poor at the end. We let a lot of clock run off after a play when there was about 44 seconds left (after the play). Could have had more time to make more manageable throws rather than having to chunk the last two in the endzone.

Yeah it’s tough bc he looked pretty poor last week too in the red zone. It’s been crazy how efficient he’s been dropping dimes all over the field, until the field shrinks. All in all another really solid performance from your backup.
Yeah bring KM back so McBride can get some TD’s in the redzone. Oh wait that was another problem with KM. LOL
