Crazy to think the Bam td called back and Higgins fumble add up to 36. Campbell’s penalty on the missed fg gave them 3 pts.
41-3=38
22+14=36
Should have been a lot closer.
Playing devils advocate here, we can do this should / could thinking for the majority of losses this year.

Way too many winnable games thrown away due to bad decisions by coaches or players. It is a consistent theme with this team all year. The mistakes dont stop they just keep happening.

I think we have a big enough sample size to know what needs to be done. Whether MB pulls the trigger or not im unsure. He did it with Wilks but then he got talked into those extensions for K1, KK and Kiem.

Michael Bidwill did at least eat those idiotic contract extensions and fire Kliff and Keim after the 2022 season.

Again, this board critiques Kyle in a way that is astounding. What he does works. He has a process and follows it. Very few if any people on the 49ers think about CMCs injury history.
Shanahan is a great coach. That doesn't mean he's infallible or that his every decision is beyond criticism. Keeping McCaffrey and Purdy in when the game was completely beyond any possibility of losing was a really stupid decision.

No source I consider to be reasonable had Melton before round 4. He is a JAG at best.

It was a nonsense pick consdiering who was on the board at the time

This is not factual. I saw many analysts that had Max Melton in the top 2 rounds pre-draft. I just did a ChatGPT search and it had Melton at number 55 in a "consolidated top 100 prospects list."

Not sure where you find your stats, but this is completely false.
I compile this league data weekly for certain sites. They had 1 starter who was questionable this week. Yes, they have lost players for the year, just like we have, but not nearly as many as we have. But, what they put on the field today was as healthy as their current 53 could be. Not for us. And when you’re missing as many as we were, it takes from your special teams unit & we felt that pain on the opening kickoff.

What I consider to be reputable versus an AI alamagation.

You get added to the ignore list. Congrats!

The Darius Robinson pick was much worse than the Melton pick.

Both aren’t good, obviously.

8 of the top 104 players drafted! When you play your super genius move of trading down from a superstar in Will Anderson to get a war chest of picks, and focus your entire rebuild on the draft, you sure as hell better not put together a disasterclass like the 2024 draft.

Monti is in way over his head, and Gannon proves every week he's better suited to be a coordinator than a head coach.

Here is what really happened and why Monty sucks.

We could have stayed put and just taken DeJean or Braden Fiske, who both somehow fell out of round 1. You know, actual impact players in the NFL.

Monty traded back so far that he had to take Melton after DeJean, Kamari, and Kool Aide all went off the board.

So he mega reached at 43 for Melton all for an extra third.

That third would have been Matt Gonclaves, an actually decent guard but he traded that pick to take Tip Reiman and a 6th, which ended up Tejuhan Palmer, who sits on the practice squad.

So that my Cardinals friends, is how you waste the #35 pick

I have a strange feeling we win.

Cards 18
Niners 12

No possible way we get the #1 overall pick twice in less than 10 years.
Cardinals-24
Niners-20

Because finding ways to even make winning a bad thing is the Cardinal way

I think we somehow pull this game off.. with the line at -3.5 I feel like the sharps are on AZ, just begging for money to pour in on SF.

I think we are a far worse team and they are better than us with coaching and quite literally every position other than TE.. were we are slightly better
You know no one is forcing you to make these predictions.

Four 3rd round picks and you end up with Trey Benson, Isiah Adams, Tip Reiman, and Elijah Jones.

Monti is a stand up guy / good human being. The org needed that post Keim.

But the sad truth is he a mediocre judge of talent. No better than league average. With enough time, he will build a 8-9 /9-8 football team. But no better.

I suspect Mike has him on a below league average budget, which limits upside.

Injuries above the norm, plus an above league average strength of schedule have made a "mid" roster look like a bad one. Coaching has underachieved as well.

If the team is going to have greater than "Mid" potential -- it needs a FO reset.

Both were picked where they were slotted, but that is not the issue.

The issue is Monti is literally paid more than $1mm per year to run a staff to draft better than Mel Kiper's ESPN rankings.

I should knock on the door at Cards HQ and tell Mike for $500k a year I will use internet draft rankings to pick players and achieve similar results.
