It appears the buyout on Bradley Beal is still on per Gambo. And the Suns will likely use the opening for a point or combo guard.

Now we can relax, kick back and watch the summer league Suns, not that we weren't already.

Sports Illustrated says the Clippers are the favorite to sign Beal post buyout. They can offer $5.35 million. Not Gavin the full MLE is likely causing some issues.

Apparently his bonus would hit the Clippers or the receiving team if dealt before July 15th.

So. Ish is going to pay the bonus and then ship him off? If that does happen it makes him more attractive to the receiving team and the Suns get tax penalty relief that makes it worth it.

Ok. I can live with that.

This is IF they get some salary relief in return from the trade.

None of that seems complicated

It's more complicated than one might think as it deals with millions and millions of dollars saved, future salaries and Exceptions.

The advance payment on Beal's contract has no impact on the Suns' expected buyout per Duane Rankin.

This likely points to multiple destination scenarios and him trying to decide on which one.

If I'm the Suns I'm tempted to keep Beal and find homes for Allen and O'Neale, but a team that can absorb their salaries likely wants draft compensation, which Phoenix is sorely lacking.

Oh man that doesn’t tempt me an inch.

Which part, keeping Beal or trying to find a home for Allen and O'Neale?

If the Suns could trade Allen to a team that could absorb his $16,875,000 contract, it might be enough to get under the second apron.

They could then flip him for draft picks or a player(s).

Keeping Beal. I want no part of it.

I’m sorry lots of people blaming Durant for suns issues but to me it’s much more the addition of Beal that killed this team.

Regardless none of it worked 100% time to move on

Beal doesn't become a Sun without the KD trade happening first. I think we can all agree on that.

I don't know how much blame falls on Beal, he's not blameless, but we won't be able to get an accurate measure for a while. Financially he pushed the Suns over the edge but the KD deal emptied the cupboard.

I want to move on but I'd rather eat the $50+ million a year this year and next vs being saddled with $20 million a year over the next 5. If Beal will be a super sub, let him try, but tell him the minute he can't suit up for a game is when he's sent home for the duration of his contract.

This is what i have been saying, just to hang on to him this season. We are "re-tooling" (most of us see it as rebuilding) and just keep him for now. Short term pain for long term better financial flexibility.

Shams Charani

This now gives the Suns increased team-building flexibility by taking them out of the first and second aprons, providing access to more tradeable draft picks in the future, and opening up part of the mid-level exception to utilize.

This was 100% the right moveby Phoenix. I am a 100% addition by subtraction guy and KD and Beal had to go so the Suns could start to move forward. Beal was not a bad guy but always injured and I never believed he cared enough. He certainly never showed it. Can’t have that.
