No move would be made before the team is on the clock. Would not make much sense unless you know who is still available at that point.

Huh, well there goes one move down option.

Like the Jets and Tampa options better anyway.
I saw JAX & ATL switched in draft position come across the bottom of the screen about an hour ago on NFL network. It was someone's mock draft so I was thinking a trade had already been agreed upon?

That’s not true unless the offer was so good that you just couldn’t pass it up and weren’t concerned about dropping one spot

No team is going to trade up for a pick aside from #1 before knowing who is available at that spot. They may agree “in principle” but that is going to be contingent on “player x” being available when that team is on the clock.

That is purely an assumption and just not accurate. if they give you a good enough deal and you’re willing to settle for three or four players on your board knowing that one is going to be there one spot away. you take it before they get a deal with somebody else. Waiting is pointless

Depends on their board because the Cards are in the top ten and that variable is known on the limited amount of variables to that point :)

so in a hypothetical the Cards trade #8 to the Falcons for #16 and a second round pick then the player the Falcons want is gone at 7 either by the Panthers taking him or another team trading ahead of them how does that make sense? No way would they do that, not a chance.

Let says the Falcons want Okudah, he is drafted #5-7 now they gave up draft picks for a player they didn’t really want.
That type of move would get a GM fired.

8 to 16 and vice versa your right I’d agree but this thread is 8 to 9 and 9 to 8 not 16.....

going 8 to 9 doesn’t really make any difference, you aren’t making that move as a GM unless you know the player you are trading up for is still there. From the Cardinals perspective yeah that’s great but from the other teams perspective not a chance.
