Yeah we have a great way of getting these picks at times where there’s no sure stud
This!!! In a draft where I'm most comfortable sitting at 15 or so, we pull #3. And in a draft where there is just one actual NFL caliber QB whoch we need, we pull #3 behind TWO QB poor teams.

The Cardinals are so damn cursed, bro.

1. Mulli is a legend, hop off bro.
2. It is almost certain that Monti trades down and picks up a couple additional picks and blows them too. Thats his MO.
3. There is not top first round talent in this draft. This is a bad year to have a high pick.
4. We have so many holes to fill, BPA all draft is fine. But Monti will get cute. Again, his MO.
5. The coaching staff needs fired and fast.
6. I don't trust the FO to hire good coaches.
7. I am the dictionary definition of sunk cost fallacy with this team.
8. Wilson and Trey are both studs.
9. Marv needs a WR coach, an OC, and a QB coach that can unlock him. Also means we need a QB.
10. Oh no, we suck again (early 2027 rise up dark side member)

Maybe the Jets take Kyler in a swap of pick.

I don't care for Moore...but if the Jets would take Murray and #3 it would probably be our best option.

Getting rid of Murray and clearing his cap space is probably Monti's biggest challenge this off-season. If we end up cutting him for nothing and having a bunch of dead money on the books, we are set back at least another year.

Oh wow, I wonder how old this report is. Maybe this was a decision pre-playoffs? If he wins another game, and somehow wins the national championship I can’t see how he would go back to college.

Posting in multiple threads where it's apropos....

The Athletic's Nick Baumgartner posted this mock draft today:

1. Las Vegas Raiders: Dante Moore, QB, Oregon

It’s time for Tom Brady and company to rip the cord on a quarterback. So long as he declares, Moore would be an exciting choice. The 20-year-old QB is light on experience, but his blend of football IQ, athletic instinct, poise and arm talent is beyond his years. He has the right mindset for a challenge like this and offers a skill set worth investing in.

2. New York Jets: Arvell Reese, edge, Ohio State

The most talented defender and arguably the most talented football player in the class, period, Reese has the potential to be a total game wrecker on the edge. He also has enough versatility to move around the front seven. He’s a prospect with an elite-level ceiling.

3. Arizona Cardinals: Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana

The Cardinals could have major leadership questions heading into next season, possibly including at quarterback with the future of the Kyler Murray era in doubt. Now that Arizona is starting over with a new coaching regime, it might be the perfect time to start over under center, too.

This could be very easy. If Mendoza goes first and Moore second Cleveland will be clamouring for a qb.
We could fleece them to move up to 3 IF IF IF we don’t believe Simpson is our guy.
Swap first, get next years 1st and third.

yeah...I might just crap my pants if it worked out this way.

Im guessing we traded Kyler to the jets in this situation??

Moore to Vegas is something I have considered...Mark tends to prefer a joystick style QB to a traditional pocket guy...so given this choice its very possible he goes Moore over Mendoza...... but he also listens to his coaches,,,so whoever he hires and what that guy wants will have a serious affect on the choice.

One would presume that the Jets got a veteran QB in this scenario, but Baumgartner didn't elaborate. Pretty much every single comment on the article is about the impossibility of the Jets passing on a QB at #2.

Even if they did already have a veteran QB before the draft, with Mendoza on the board the next most likely scenario is that they'd trade back. Even if they were dead set on taking Reese and no one else, they could still extract picks from the Cardinals to move up for Mendoza.

exactly. it would be worth at least a 4th just to make sure they didnt trade the pick to someone else.
more if that was a real possibility

May I ask why?
Because I think that you will change a little bit on Reese, Bain and Fano as you get more info on them. I am not sure how much college football football you watch, but that order reflects some of the early online draft ranks which I think will change as well.
