I think we need to hope Simpson has a great off season and blows the socks off of a team like Cleveland.

I dont follow college ball much but could some one tell me about the LSU qb Nussmeir ( I think thats his name) btw Mcshay has Cards taking Love rb from Notre Dame "very interesting indeed"
If Nussmeier had come out last year he would have gone round one, but anybody’s guess where. He wanted to assure going early so he went back to school. He was hurt preseason, but LSU said it was nothing serious just a sore muscle. I think it was an oblique injury. They are notorious for being easily aggravated. I think that’s what happened. He played all year compromised. Can he resume 2024 form? Maybe! This injury tends to repeat. I prefer Willis first. If I’m taking a QB in this draft Nussmeier would be a reasonable gamble.

my prediction:

Nussmeier performs very well at the combine / pro day -- and given the QB needy nature of the NFL, will be taken in the top 20 picks of the 1st round

If there's no way to get to Mendoza, best player available (and it won't be Moore). I'm with Harry, he scares me and reminds me a little of KM. Watched too many of his snaps and he seems to lock on to receivers and checks down a lot. And if he does start through his progressions, it's look to the primary and then just dump it off. Not sure about his ability to read defenses. I'm out on Simpson, too. If it's me, it's Bain or trade down a spot or 2 and pick up the best LT (kid from Utah or the kid from Miami) and maybe consider Nussmeier in Rd 2 if he tests well. Someone will rise up through the combine and senior bowls that could be had in Rd 2 or 3. We need OL or DL. And if we can't get a used bag of footballs for KM, just release him. Use the Maserati as trade bait or double down and get the guy a real WR coach. If no Mendoza, stick in the trenches.
Mostly agree. If QB1 is not available, trade down for a 3 this year and 2 next. I think Kyler has value … elsewhere. I think someone will give up a 3 for his services, thinking that he’ll finally turn around his career in a new setting. Kyler might actually do well on a contending team with a strong offensive profile. The big question becomes: What will Monti do with the extra draft picks? I really think he’s equally liable for the Cards’ 3-14 record. He’s been in charge of 3 drafts and his drafting record is not impressive. A GM must get great value out of their No1 and No2 draft picks. That’s not been the case for Monti.

Are you as confident about Bailey as a prospect as you were with Wirfs?
I followed Wirfs for a lot longer than Bailey so...no. That said, I liked Will Anderson about as much as I like David Bailey in terms of style of play. I lack industry contracts to really know a lot about the prospect as a person. That said, I won't be shocked if Bailey generates some chatter. Some are going to be turned off by the reporter interaction.

That limits his destinations to Minnesota and Atlanta.
Edit: And maybe Miami, if you stretch the definition of "contending".
2nd Edit: As others have pointed out, Indianapolis is also a possibility.

It will be great for the Cardinals if there's interest from multiple of these teams!

As much as we have sucked, we have rarely sucked so badly that we have drafted THIS high.

Since moving to AZ, here are our only top 3 draft picks:

1993 3 Garrison Hearst (RB)
1996 3 Simeon Rice (DE)
1998 3 Andre Wadsworth (DE)
2001 2 Leonard Davis (T)
2004 3 Larry Fitzgerald (WR)
2019 1 Kyler Murray (QB)

Because I think that you will change a little bit on Reese, Bain and Fano as you get more info on them. I am not sure how much college football football you watch, but that order reflects some of the early online draft ranks which I think will change as well.

That’s nice of you to assume I’m not educated on them but I’m very familiar with all of them.

Reese was up and down this year. Plenty of games where he was a complete non factor and blue chip top 5 prospects don’t disappear like that

Fano is good but he’s not a franchise top 3 pick tackle. Very solid 5-10 range probably if we trade back. Like I said good but not great

Bain has been blue chip from day one he’s the most consistent and he’s a monster and on top of that we have Sweat and Nolan coming back we could really build a serious pass rush here.

Indy too with a great running attack and a very good up and coming WR with Alec Pierce and TE.

I haven't studied the quarterbacks in this draft, but the smart thing is likely to trade down and get more draft picks if a good trade becomes available.

They need players not to mention coaches.

I can't sign on.

Trading out of the Will Anderson pick was a terrible trade in the moment and it only looks worse and worse.

Agreed but I won’t be pissed at all if we take one of the two offensive tackles….would rather go edge but if we get Kubiak or lafleur ….they may demand it even lol

This is my evergreen draft tweet

somewhere in the top part of the draft is a cutoff between blue chip and something just below that. If you have a chance to trade down and stay in the blue chip range -- do it
