Urban was on 98.7 yesterday and opined that even if they sign Will H, Adams has had a good camp and would be the starter.

lets hope Adams improvement is real -- it would be a positive development on a number of dimensions

i would still want Will H for depth
I think we are suffering from collective PTSD due to the complete inability of previous regimes to develop players

Adams maturing into a good player wouldn't be a complete surprise - he had some incredibly bad pass rush reps last year, but gained some valuable experience. He can move some bodies in the run game, so if he can get his technique right in protection he can be a starter.

(I'm sure I've jinxed him to the next camp wonder gone bad... :stick: )

Do we know if Gannon has said anything about starters playing/not playing in preseason? Is it gonna be more of the same as the last 2 years?

I wanna hear your stories. Im going to try and keep it simple in my head. Reps are good.
1. Trying to avoid another slow start year.

2. Seeing defense in live action together with young DBs and new green dot.

3. Offense isn’t looking as polished as they should be.

And, just to be clear, all of this is unsupported speculation.

man...Im hoping our starters get two full drives this weekend...Im sure Andy will oblige by keeping his starters out there for two full drives.
More is always better..but two drives should give us looks at a variety of situations both offensively and defensively...and while the chefs o line isnt stellar...I would like to see Rallis dial up the four man rush a couple times against Mahomes and crew....we saw what Philly could do against the chefs with that formation...would be nice to see what we can do for comparisons sake.
Main thing I would be looking for on offense is just zero three and outs...keep the ball moving.
.....and maybe feature one of our backup running backs just a little...so we can send a tape to Indy and offer a package for Alex Peirce

Man I don’t remember a season where fans were so “yawn… wake me up in January when we can see if Kyler can win a playoff game” since 2022.

I hope there’s more urgency in camp. This team hasn’t won anything, guys like Max Melton and Trey Benson haven’t proven anything, and we finished third in our division last year.

We have a ton to prove. Everyone but Budda on D has something to prove. Everyone on the offense has something to prove—including Trey McBride, who has scored six TDs in three NFL seasons.

Michael Wilson has one more NFL TD than Trey McBride.

Maybe because the floor for this roster is “pretty good”. It would really surprising this team doesn’t win nine games don’t you think?

So like you said most of us are waiting to see if see if rebuild pays off with at least a playoff berth.

Personally im super duper excited for this season. Holding my breath a little when it comes to K1 though.

I don’t think nine wins is good.

Early in camp I read good things about Cody Simon, but nothing lately. Anyone hear anything?
Good reviews so far

"The 2025 fourth-round pick has made a quick impression on coach Jonathan Gannon in a short amount of time. He's taken on the responsibility of wearing the green dot, which has added to the steep learning curve that comes with a player's first year in the NFL, but Gannon has praised Simon's ability to learn quickly from his mistakes," wrote Weinfuss before attached the following quote from Gannon:

"He's definitely flashed here," Gannon said. "We got him playing a couple different spots, so that's good. He is playing on fourth down right now, so he is learning all that. He's eager to learn. He doesn't make mistakes twice and he's got juice. He's physical, just like all those guys. Long way to go. But I like where he is at."

Can Cody Simon Make Instant Impact for

He seems like a guy who can fit at LB for Gannon and Rallis. Seems to be smart. Lots of experience. Comes across as having a professional mindset. Has a base level of athleticism. Physical player. Who knows if that fit means starter or core reserve, but I would be shocked if he doesn't at least hang around.

I get some Jordan Hicks vibes from Simon. Can't really say why.

yet all logical. 3 is interesting. Would you then speculate that had the offense been showing out appropriately, he would've shelved them for pre season? I always think reps are good, so I was hoping it was more of a simple change of heart philosophically.

I think we'll know more after we see who plays and for how long.

It could be that Michael Bidwill told him that we're not having an empty, lifeless stadium on opening night -- give people a reason to come to the game. No one is coming here for Jacoby Brissett and Elijah Jones.

I don't think that 15 reps are going to matter in improving the offense or defense.

Another thought it’s against KC and Reid will play his starters for a few series.

The viewership for a Saturday night game will be high for a preseason game.
