I like Love but I don't think he fixes any of the Cardinals major problems and is a bit of a Luxury at #3 overall. Plus drafting him at #3 overall you are instantly making him one of the higher paid RBs in the league whereas if you take an Edge rusher you are getting some major cost control over the next 4 years. Still I would be somewhere between Happy and OKay with the pick even though the value isn't there for a RB. He is still an elite talent.

If the #Cardinals were to select Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love at No. 3—which has gained some traction—he would get a 4-year, $50.5M fully guaranteed deal, the most fully guaranteed money ever given to a RB in NFL history.

The $12.6M average per year would rank 7th among RBs in the NFL.

I think a lot--if not all--of the "mehs" or "I'll be POd" or "not a premium position" complaints will go completely by the wayside once the kid proves out. IMO he will be a dynamic back for whoever drafts him, and if that's us, opinions will be changed.
I am conflicted more than most options. I mean he is universally considered the 'best prospect' in THIS draft.

I keep thinking that if he is the second coming of Barry Sanders or Walter Payton we'll look back in 10 years and be glad we didn't pass on him.

Two injured RBs and one barely making the team that got injured also. Any pick at #3 could be a busy may as well roll the dice. Does AZ have a face of the franchise?

He seems like the best pick to me. I have not studied the draft too much, but from what I can see of the supposed top picks, this draft sucks.

Whatever we do, do not take Arvell Reese - I cannot believe anyone seriously thinks that bum warrants the third pick overall - he reminds me way to much of Ojilari

Would you change your mind after say a hundred yards rushing and recieving in the same game and a couple of touchdowns?

It would really skew the cap. Love is likely the BPA for those who believe in that pre-cap, now mostly discarded strategy. I don’t find it impossible to work with, but it would make building out the roster tricky. Coupled with the RB room’s investment the Cards would have trouble getting their money back.

12 million a year isn't a large percentage for an RB out of 300+ million (and will probably be in the 370-385 million range by his fourth year). It's like 4% of our cap. If Monti can't plan his way around a "misallocation" of a couple of percentage points in the cap, well he's as worthless as we all think.

I also have to handicap Monti. Will there be better players than Love at positions of need in the draft that go later than love? Yep. Do I trust him to draft one, nope.

We're not getting Mendoza, and Bailey is unlikely. I'd absolutely be happy with Love in this draft.

I also feel he is superior to Jeanty. Having a three-headed RB attack would be nice. Focus heavily on the lines in the rest of the draft. But that isn't even a Love dependent desire for the lines.

Whatever backup QB we have starting, they'll need all the help they can get.

We’ve got a big hole in our RB room regardless if Love is the pick or not. So some measure of investment will be needed there.

I selected "over the moon," but only because I don't have much faith in the other players available to us, since I think Bailey will be gone.

I'm going to throw up on my shoes if we reach for Mauigoa, and if we take Reese, I'm going to have to sit down and convince myself by watching highlight reels and getting excited about his athleticism if everything goes right.
