The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.

Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.

Here is running back Jeremiyah Love.

Jeremiyah Love background, 2025 season

Love is a rookie and was the Cardinals' top selection in the 2026 NFL draft. He was selected third overall out of Notre Dame.

In 2025, for the Fighting Irish, he was third in the Heisman voting and was an All-American, rushing for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns, averaging 6.9 yards per attempt. He also had 27 receptions for 280 yards and three scores, giving him 1,652 total offensive yards and 21 touchdowns.

Jeremiyah Love 2026 contract details, cap hit

Love signed a four-year, fully guaranteed, rookie deal worth more than $53 million. There is a fifth-year team option.

He will make $885,000 in salary in 2026 but was paid a $35 million signing bonus. His cap hit in 2026 will be $9.6 million.

Questions he faces, 2026 roster outlook

He is a roster lock. While it isn't 100% certain he will be the Cardinals' starting running back, he will be a major part of the offense with veteran back Tyler Allgeier.

The offense will feature his skills as a runner and likely as a pass catcher.

The main thing we want to know is whether he can live up to the hype of being the No. 3 overall pick. Could he be good enough to win Offensive Rookie of the Year?

How much will he and Allgeier share the offensive load?

But he will make the roster and will play a lot.
