Eh I dunno. The packers were last team in for the NFC last season; the Chargers for the AFC.

Those seem like worthy teams. It’s just that there’s usually an AFC/NFC South winner that gets waved in and boatraced out that we remember as the 7th seed.
yes -- but the Packers were also 9-7-1 last year

thats not a bad team, but also not a great team

You’re changing the metric from “flawed” to “great.”

If a team was great they’d probably win their division. The Packers +31 point differential was fifth in the conference.

No team in their division finished with a losing record. They were average or above in the four major offense and defense categories.

They’re plenty worthy.

the point here is it was a 9 win team (in fairness, only a 7 loss team too). thats interesting but not really a contender territory -- flawed.

This has to be the worst offseason in franchise history?

I can't remember any off-season nearly this bad and I thought it could never get worse than that era of 2000 to 2003, mas o menos.

I mean we aren't trying to win. We aren't even attempting to look like a professionally run franchise. It's gotten more embarrassing and pathetic since the end of the season. You wouldn't think we could go lower than we were at the end of the season before training camp even begins but somehow we have. I have less hope NOW than I did at the end of the Rams game on Jan 4th. And we SUCKED.

we got rid of kyler murray

we got this dude named jeremiyah love

not the worst offseason ever
Let's face it the K1 experiment was an epic failure in AZ. Will he succeed in the future? Time will tell, I don't think he's got the mental fortitude for the game. It's all about get paid and at all costs protect myself.

Full of what? The guys that helped us win last year?
The top 100 list is a list of voted top 100 players in the NFL. The Cardinals have players on this list. The majority of the Cardinals that appear on that list are players that people on this board want to get rid of.

I didn't think I needed to be that specific but apparently so. Unless you are trying to shift the argument to future production which is even more speculative. Ultimately, maybe it's not a great idea to jettison the few players on the roster that are highly regarded around the league when the GM is bad at drafting and money isn't an issue.

It sucks to feel like you care more about winning than the team does. It sucks to feel like the main decision makers are incompetent.

Honestly, the thing that wears me out the most is arguing with people who are directly or indirectly supporting the organization's (owner and front office) pursuit of non-competitiveness. Posters supporting Bidwill and Monti trying to save 10 mil vs starting the season with a more accomplished QB is just disheartening. I mean, what is the purpose of getting rid of Kyler Murray just to start Gardner Minshew or Carson Beck? It certainly isn't to win football games. At least with Brissett you could make the skewed argument that they liked a bit of what they saw last year and are curious what he looks like in a better system. (wrong thread, I know)

Yeah, I quite clearly didn't agree with your premise. We have 2 players on that list - Sweat and Budda. Neither had any impact on us winning or losing last year, you can put Budda on that list for several years.

Much depends on how you view this team - everything screams that we're in a total rebuild. We have no QB, and one of the worst rosters in the NFL.

I'm neutral on dumping Sweat - if he wants to go, I don't see any point in him sticking around. I don't see any point in keeping Budda around if you can get some legitimate value for him. We're likely going to be awful whether he plays or not, as has been proven over the last 4 years.
