My choice at 3 is probably Bailey. That first step is something you can't teach and causes havoc for an OL.
That quickness sets up other moves as well.
Put him opposite Sweat and Move Zaven back inside with Mack.
A healthy Nolen and improving Robinson gives you a chance to have a pretty good front 7.

FWIW, I texted my BIL and just asked Bailey or Reese.? The answer is................................................ Reese!!

Wow! I guess the league is valuing his versatility then, which many of us see as a negative (as in he has no position). If so, that's great for us. Until, of course, as you mentioned, Monti passes on the Big John for a RT lol

I will say that if you look at his highlights, you see some absolutely FREAKY plays from Reese. He's just so damn fast and quick. He appears from out of nowhere, and he's not a tiny guy either.
I can understand the appeal, but he's a projection.

Agree here. What's funny is that I think Zaven would actually be a good traditional SOLB in an even front. He just isn't a good enough pass rusher to be a 3-4 backer.

Great first step, but Bailey has little-to-no bend. That + him being on the smaller side, I don’t know how you guys are so fascinated with him at 3 unless you just watched his YouTube highlights.

The top-5 of this draft is putrid compared to most. I’ll take a productive edge like Haason Reddick who’s a 10-12 sack a year guy and maybe one occasional all pro season.

I agree that bend is not his best trait. I disagree with the little to no comment. I think that is a dramatic statement. IMO the first step is going to help mitigate the bend. He plays with leverage to get under pads so even though he hasn't shown a bunch of speed to power he has the tools to do so. His hand usage is good. He shows a good spin and rip. Can counter back inside. He has demonstrated an ability to finish. Run defense is easy to coach if the player is willing and has at least decent size. Bailey has the size and the team will have to determine if he is willing. I have no reason to think he isn't. This is what I like about him at 3.

I don’t think it’s dramatic at all honestly. He looks too high cut. You’re just gonna get ran up the field with no bend despite the explosiveness. He so easily gets sealed off that I’m not sure how much coaching is going to help cause his play-strength is not that strong. He gets destroyed by double teams as well. Basically, if he doesn’t win with his first step, he’s done. I think he would get bullied in this division. It gives me Yannick Ngakoue vibes & I’m not drafting a player like that at 3.

We seem him a bit differently. IMO (of course). His first step is going to put pressure on OTs to open up to catch up. Even if his bend isn't great, his dip and burst is going to allow him to get around the OT. If they do open up he already has a developed counter. I do agree about him needing to not get sealed. Most sub 260 guys get destroyed by double teams so I am less worried about that. Coaches can teach him how they want him to attack it. I don't seem him as being maxed out but if he fails, you have highlighted how it happens. I personally believe you can have that exercise with almost every prospect.
