I'm repeating myself from other threads, but yes, in a vacuum, if you think players have comparable value, go OL in this situation. Unfortunately, there aren't "mashers" in this draft, in my opinion. There's middling, non-elite players in Mauigoa or Fano. Don't reach desperately to find a "masher" that isn't really any good.

If Love is the best player in the draft, as many say, just take him. Then find a way to acquire a RT in the 2nd round, via trade, or other means.
Then 17 games of Jacoby Brissett with a crap o line…no way that’s gonna happen ….they will get Francis at 9 and Simpson at 29…they can get another running back at the top of round 4 to do the job

The RBs in this draft are awful. If you don't take Love, don't take one at all.

I really dont think this is a stretch. When you cant sign the DC you want, you keep the one you have already under contract for another year, rather than paying 2 guys, neither of whom are your first choice. I think theyd prefer Rallis does a good job, but I dont think they necessarily expect him to.

I hope he proves everyone wrong. But I think thats a smaller percentage chance than he just isnt ready for this level of responsibility.
My (uneducated) is Rallis isnt going to finish the season and his replacement is already in house his name is Teryl Austin only makes way to much sense does it not

Everything I’m reading says,
Love is the safest pick.
Bailey, Reese and Bain seem the next best but all 3 have some issues and will need some time to become “the man”.
Simpson is the consensus second best Qb but how early to take him is the biggest question. Late first seems the sweet spot but do we want to give up draft capital to move up?
One thing is for sure. There are going to be a lot of pissed off posters no matter who we draft.

I know it’s not going to happen but I’ll take Love at 3 and Simpson IF he s there in the second round. If not back to BPA.

I'm not against giving up a 4th ot 5th to move up a bit to get Simpson..assuming of course the coaching staff has some faith in him.
We don't need lots of new players. We need some good players at key positions

Take Love, tank the season for next year QB Class. Love, McBride, Wilson/MHJ and QB1 next year sounds pretty good

You would have to give up our 2nd pick and something to move back up into the first round.
If Simpson is gone we could get a nice return if we trade our 2nd pick and move down.

Yeah...give 34 and a fifth to move to around 26 or 28...it's a fair deal

Do we really need any more guys on the bottom of the roster?
I say we dont.

I think you will have give a little more than the 5th to move into the first round because of the value of the 5th year option on a first round player. Most likely it would be the 2nd and 4th. That may seem like too much but if the Cards believe in Simpson it would be worth it.

Monti knows he needs to do **something** to save his job for 2027 and beyond.

That is his motivator.

So its trade down time to both meet a need at the top half of round 1 and get Simpson.

That buys him two more years -- one while Simpson mostly sits and then another when he actually plays

The 2026 draft isn't going to save Monti's job.

Monti needs his new Head Coach to show that he knows what he is doing right off the bat.

Monti needs several players from his past draft classes to develop into quality starters who can stay healthy in 2026.

That's how Monti saves his job.

Agree 100%. My hope is that somehow, someway, we end up drafting Love, Simpson, and the OLineman from Arizona State. Don’t ask me to spell or pronounce his name just yet lol. All the injuries have hidden the fact that we DO have depth on this team & a legit STAR like Love is what this team needs right now.
