Not a bad position, and Downs is a strong pick. And while we have young players there, and an aging Budda, it would be a not TERRIBLE decision. But Love jerseys will fly off the shelf, Downs jerseys won't. Love will get airtime on talk radio/tv, Downs wont. Love will get fantasy chatter and excitement, Downs won't. Do those things matter? Not really on field, but definitely in visibility for the franchise which does matter. They need to stop the bleeding and put butts back in the seats.

I'm a defensive guy, and I'm a little shocked at myself that I'm bought all the way in on Love.
On the defense side a strong running game eats time off the clock thus helping the defense with rest and fewer opposing ofense plays plus our offense wouldnt be throwing 40 or 50 times a game to "Catch up" remember when Dallas had Emmet Smith he would virtually take over the 4th quarter all by himself and thats just one example one last thing Ive read about Love he is a excellent blocker so that may help against blitzes etc havent really read much about recieving though Ide assune he is at least adequate

How could the Raiders justify that trade, besides saying we thought it would be nice to help a struggling franchise. And we are sure our fans will understand.
There was a combine rumor that the Raider's arent very high on Mendoza as a prospect and would be open to a trade. Better to take a kings ransom, (including coveted 2027 1sts) if you dont actually believe in the guy.

I think I just jinxed everything. I got a surge of hope that Cards might end up with their own “triplets” in Simpson, Love, and MHJ and that could end up being really great. So now that’s never gonna happen. Lol

Nope more like Love Simpson and Mcbride ala Aikman Smith and Novaceck (a former Cardinal mind ya)

I can see the common sense of taking a guy like Bailey or the OT from Miami at a position of greater value but if we take Love or even Bailey, I think we are going to have to move back into the first because I feel too there will be a run on tackles. If we don't take an OT early, I expect the Cards to be trading back into the first

There are also a couple of people who think Proctor might turn out to be the best down the road.
also saw a couple mocks that had Big Max from ASU going as high as 15...
do I think he has top 15 talent? Certainly... but the NFL doesnt usually use a pick that high on a guy who has only been playing the game five years...unless he just flat out dominated..like, an OLB getting 18-20 sacks his last two seasons or something.

Im really hoping we dont see this hard run on OT's thats being predicted...we always see a run around the teens... but some are saying we may have as many as 9 OT's taken in the first round...30% of the round is just fuggin nutz

I think 15 is high. 34 would be more realistic. If the Cards are looking for an RT who won’t move to LT there are several options. Some might even develop to an LT prospect. If they trade down I still wouldn’t take him round 1, but he’s a consideration for later. He’s definitely moved up in the pecking order. There’s really a fairly decent group of tackles with a second round grade.

thats right where I am at as well... Max would be perfect at 34...but I would take him at 25 if we had the pick.

but 15?? I have faith in his talent and ability to develop, but at 15 you want a guy at RT that is fairly well polished...not a guy that only has 5 years of football experience
