You would think, but we also thought Darius and now Walter would be back quick with "calf strains", right? Until he's back, it feel like an unknown to me. I'm jaded all of a sudden though. I hope hes back in 2-3 weeks abd plays like he was. Paying him is a no brainer then.

Based on everything before 3-4 corners got injured, I’d really hesitate to put Clark on the Part of the Future tier. The coaches have shown they’ll do all they can to keep him off the field.

Cody Simon should be on that list somewhere also.

3 weeks ago, Clark is no where in this list, but he seems to serve an important role when others go down.

I think he can have a Plummer-esque post Cardinals career if he went to the right team where he had a couple years of success surrounded by a ton of talent but the moment things aren’t perfect, the train starts to derail and does so quickly.

Once the season starts everyone is placed on just the regular Injured Reserve. Anyone on IR can be designated for return after they have been on IR for at least 4 weeks. Williams can't be designated for return until next week at the earliest.

As good as the news is on Garrett Williams, it's bad on Walter Nolen. He was seen at practice, on the side, not working. It' 6 weeks into the season and he's apparently not even close to returning. Certainly appears that his calf injury was every bit as bad as Darius Robinson's, and he'll miss most of the season.

But you could get a BIG discount on that extension if he stays healthy. He has one year at less than $2 mill left on his current deal.

I think this staff didn't see much of a need for the vertical WR in this offense. He wouldn't get the ball anyway!
They are having a hard time incorporating the #4 overall pick in the offense.

I agree that the production return for a player like that would not be high, but if the staff doesn't understand how a vertical threat creates space...then it's one of several reasons they will be fired.

Rallis commented on this so at least Rallis and Gannon know

His stated philosophy is that the game is won in the trenches. His revealed philosophy is that he thinks "just good enough" will win in the trenches. His failure to upgrade the interior OL is negligence -- especially considering who they play in the division. I would think the two Seattle games last year would have burned an idea in his head that an upgrade was really needed.

This offseason, the coaching staff talked about getting more explosives (one of three keys to winning per his head coach) -- yet no WR added in FA, the draft or really even UDFA. Another example of accepting what he thought was "good enough".

Gannon/Coaches: Where has the bravado gone? So risk averse this year. After five games this trend is clear: the D plays pretty well for the first 50 minutes, but then allows every QB they face to turn into Tom Brady for the final 10. Im scared to look up the Cardinal passer rating allowed in the 4th quarter of games. Yet -- JG continues to be ok with turning the ball over to the other team with time on the clock to close out games.

The utter cluster of "I didnt like the call on 3rd and 8, but i let my OC call plays (who also didnt like it)" would be the only sentence needed to justify firing for cause.

Also based on the wording from the last 2 days it was implied Kyler was NOT allowed to change that last play which makes no sense at all.

One of things I've read but can't confirm is that Kyler was out on the long run be DeMercado because they wanted the option to have the QB run the ball depending on the defense and that implies 2 things, one Kyler couldn't run(the foot) and two had they seen a certain defense they would have switched to a QB sneak and let Brissett run it.

So now you get 3rd and 8 and you run a straight handoff, with absolutely no indication there was an option for Kyler to keep it, as mentioned he was literally moving towards the other endzone after handing it off. Marv was the only WR on the field, all the TE's were blocking. Petzing said yesterday that they thought there was a chance to "pop" one like they had earlier in the game but didn't work. The one that popped we had Beachum in as an extra lineman, we didn't on the 3rd and 8 run and again it's clear Kyler couldn't run on that play so there was no element of surprise.

Everything he does that is good to great happens off schedule. I don't know how any team wins consistently with that. And he's the least clutch QB in the league.

I don't see Kyler being anything different than what he has shown, no matter where he goes. I can't think of a system that can compensate for his weaknesses.

Yeah, they're "winning" by not having losing seasons and sneaking into the playoffs here and there, to be trounced right back out. This year has started great for them, but the fans here have been dissatisfied with the product for years. Adding another crappy QB wouldn't be the answer. I'd say they miss the playoffs with Kyler "leading" the team.
