That was also stupid, but a little more justifiable since he is likely out of commission most of this season, and Milwaukee is desperate to keep Giannis happy.

The Bucks want to compete with Giannis. IMO, they did a solid job of reshaping their roster to do so.

Without owning their future first round picks for years to come, the Suns are trying to do much the same thing building around Devin Booker.

And therein lies the rub. The Bucks want to compete by building around an MVP, All-Time great… and the Suns are building around a guy who couldnt even make the All-Star game last year.

And even if that wasn’t the case, most NBA have slammed the Bucks for this “rebuild”, think the contract they gave to Turner made very little sense and won’t move the needle for them so I’m not sure that’s a model to be held up as some sort of positive plan to try and mimick.

Imagine how many fights Grayson and Green will start if they're teammates?

I'm joking, some.
I was reading some comments in a Warriors chat that said that Grayson was so dirty, poster responded that Draymond was the king of dirty and the Warriors fan was trying to justify why DG’s behavior was acceptable and Allen’s was not. Freaking hilarious

And Allen's not even dirty.

Grayson has mostly reshaped that image with the Suns. Ironically, it came at a time when they needed that edge the most.

Hypothetical Kuminga trade:

Kuminga is a nice player, but I don't see him as a fit with Book and Green. However, I think the Book and Green combo will have a short life. However, I can see Grayson as a great fit on the Warriors.

I guess we are in the mode where we need to gather assets in players and picks regardless of fit. The problem with doing that with young players is that if they are not in a situation where we can develop them, we depreciate their value in putting together a cohesive team later.

This team needs a pg that will make everyone else look better.

The Suns made it further with Booker than they did with Durant and Beal, but you know that.

It's been discussed ad nauseam. Now all the Suns need is another Chris Paul…

Anyway, I thought you might appreciate this audio from Mat Ishbia. :)

He hasn't been in Phoenix. I won't say he wasn't or won't be dirty again. He has some real black marks on his record.
In college, yes. But he hasn't been "that guy" for years. It's just a reputation that has carried over but there is very little evidence that he's been dirty as a pro. Especially not with us (as you said) and Milwaukee before that.

He is worried about the fans. Give me a break a owner should not care. Do what's right building around Booker is fools cold until proven otherwise

That's fair. He did make some plays in Memphis that raised eyebrows but I can see them either way as I had a very negative view of him when we acquired him. He seems to have matured but I won't hold it against another fanbase to be cautious of him.

No they did not. Milwaukee is in just as bad a shape as the Suns other than Giannis > Booker and they are in the East. But realistically they have no chance to compete - just like the Suns.

LOL

On paper, we are worse, but then again, last summer on paper we were considered one of the best teams in the league.

The paper sucks.
Did you really believe last year the Suns would be one of the best? I know I didn't - I had seen enough of the big 3 the year before to believe that. I think our preseason odds were like 6th best chance or something - but even that is hardly what you would call a favorite.

I do not think comparing those teams as Book + Paul > Book + KD is a good comparison at all.

First off competition is tougher now than when that team went to the finals, second the coaching staff was in my opinion superior with Monty over the 2 that followed, Third Ayton, Cam, and Mikal are a better core by far than Beal, Royce, Grayson

I long for the day this love affair with PG's ends for Phoenix fans. No other team's fans think like this - it's like we are still stuck in the Nash era.

Well, he broke Caruso‘s arm with an insanely dirty play, and he had a wild ejection in his second year during the summer league where he got two flagrants in about 10 seconds. The second one was really, really stupid.

But that’s the thing, he’s never been hard-nosed. He’s just a guy who used to snap now and then and lose his head and do something idiotic.

He seems to have grown out of his psychotic tendencies. He was never a tough guy though.

Not really stuck in the Nash era. If you think this then add

Kevin Johnson
Jason Kidd
Chris Paul

The thing is the SUNS have never competed successfully in this league without a solid to great point guard for which the current team does not have on the roster.

I've seen some folks on other forums speculating that the guy we should really be chasing is Josh Giddey... and I totally agree.

Not that it's any more likely or realistic than getting Kuminga, but apparently he and Chicago are apparently about $10 million apart on a new contract and he's looking for the same money as Kuminga. He would be a perfect fit here and solve a lot of our issues.

Again, it's more wishful thinking since we probably have absolutely nothing to trade that Chicago would want (unless they could somehow be talked into Green, I guess... I would do that in a heartbeat).

Has literally nothing to do with my point. Never did I say anything about Durant or Beal.

But you know that.

Because HOF Point God’s are easy to come by, especially when you have zero resources to attain one.

A Booker led CP3-less team has consistently either been amongst the worst teams in the league or the most disappointing. Rebuilding around that kind of player, with zero assets to really improve the team is an exercise in futility.

The Suns may explore some trades at the trade deadline, such as Jalen Green, if it's not working out.

Until then, I think they will give it a try. I do expect the Suns to make another move or two before then.

Chicago was rumored as a Beal destination. Maybe they would want Green. That's interesting. Giddey wouldn't be bad.
