i like gannon - i think we're just bored
Yeah, nice try we were almost tops in the league for having to jumble around our offensive line due to games missed…. The D line wasn’t much better. But stay in your little lala land of perpetual thc bliss.do you mean the cardinals or nearly every team in the league?

Playoffs? Playoffs?Heck, I'm optimistic! I think we've had a mostly good offseason, as good as possible with this owner, maybe, and should be a lock for the playoffs. With our QB? My big hope is winning a playoff-clinching game. My demand is a playoff win, but, again, see our limited QB play. We shall see where the roster improvements take us.
Arians brought in a ton of seasoned veterans and played in a weak division. MO gutted the roster down to the studs and then proceeded to draft, draft, draft. 2 vastly different approaches. When Arians left on his own accord, the window had slammed shut & the Cardinals were forced back to the drawing board. Granted it was fun for a few years, but we never got to the promised land and the last 2 seasons were very forgettable.LOL he didn’t? Who was the QB when he was brought on board?
I like Gannon and hope he does well, but ppl need to pump the brakes. He’s not on Ken Whisenhunt’s level yet.
The last two forgettable Arians seasons were more successful than Gannon/Monti’s first two seasons.Arians brought in a ton of seasoned veterans and played in a weak division. Congratulations? The last two forgettable seasons were more successful than Gannon/Monti’s first two seasons.
Congratulations?
It seems as (to me) as if they made it so KM just has to be a game manager, just get on the board and let the Def dominateHeck, I'm optimistic! Thats ideally the situation you want for any QB...then the guy needs to break out hero ball a couple times a season to close out a close game.It seems as (to me) as if they made it so KM just has to be a game manager, just get on the board and let the Def dominate
The funniest thing I've read on this board today. When Arians left on his own accord
I hope KM can be good enough to be a game manager for a successful season. It seems as (to me) as if they made it so KM just has to be a game manager, just get on the board and let the Def dominate
Yes, Arians is the right answer as of this moment, and what he did with Stanton was remarkable! Five of Stanton's win game in 2014, the year that we had our best shot at a deep playoff run and we were robbed by watching Ryan freaking Lindley start in the playoffs. That was a really freaking fun team!Arians won games with Drew Stanton and Blaine Gabbert under center.
Bruce is the correct answer here.

Arians was 11-5 with Stanton and Gabbert. Gannon was 1-8 with Dobbs. I don't think Dobbs wants to have a word about that!Josh Dobbs would like a word
I’m not saying to go through the entire roster and compare player to player, but I am saying just to compare win-loss record without looking at the situation and the overall roster is pure stupidity, lazy and incredibly misleading. If you aren't going to compare the two based on the previous year's record, and instead want to pick all of the nits between individuals players on the 53 man roster, I don't know that you ever going to be able to compare coaches. Too many minute differences that can't really be weighed.
Personally I ascribe most of our downfall in the second half of the season to Kyler and Petsing. I feel the offense was too conservative.then riddle me this batman
if we were able to win in the first half of last season but not the second - wth?
did we trade all that talent away at the bye? I think there would have been something about it on the espn but regardless - when the team should have been improving we backslid - teams figured us out and we never adjusted
if you look at the games themselves we had the same detrimental problems in the same quarters followed by meaningless unsuccessful comebacks
we drove off a cliff last year - only one steering wheel
And let's not forget the Steve keim won executive of the year.If you aren't going to compare the two based on the previous year's record, and instead want to pick all of the nits between individuals players on the 53 man roster, I don't know that you ever going to be able to compare coaches. Too many minute differences that can't really be weighed.
It's fair to argue that both coaches were brought in to coach a bottom win team. It is also fair to state that in the 1st two seasons, Kliff was able to produce a better record. Kliff was able to get the team to the playoffs in year 3, can Gannon do that? IDK.
Arians had a great run and has the highest winning % of a AZ HC in modern history. Whiz had a great initial run, and nearly was able to get the team it's first Super Bowl title in franchise history. He then couldn't figure out how to replace Warner and got fired.
I get being hopeful regarding Gannon (I am) but people are definitely putting the cart before the horse with him right now.
Arians last 2 seasons were 7-8-1 and 8-8, so pretty much identical to last season. And I would argue that JG had far less talent last year than BA had in his last 2 seasons. JG’s first season should be ignored completely because all they were doing was analyzing for the future. Kind of reminded me of Coryell’s first season 1973 when the team went 4-9-1.The last two forgettable Arians seasons were more successful than Gannon/Monti’s first two seasons.
i hear this point loud and clear however one could argue that the fall off towards the second half of the season was due to the lack of talent. First half they may have just gotten everything out of them that they could but they just crapped out because they just arent that good. Whether thats due to poor technique settling back in or lack of strength or speed i dont knowthen riddle me this batman

Crown their ass (sorry, couldn’t resist)!Too soon to crown them until we see some production but no doubt the cardinals have been in some dark days the past years and now finally looks like we have stable competence at both positions with a clear methodical plan and upward trajectory
Lets beat that this season. Whataya say?Yes, Arians is the right answer as of this moment, and what he did with Stanton was remarkable! If Carson could have stayed healthy in 2014, I think we could have made a Super Bowl run!
As for Gabbert, who won a total of 2 games, he was not good.
Palmer 38-21-1
Stanton 9-4
Gabbert 2-3
Lindley 0-2
Two playoff appearances in 5 years with 1 playoffs win. This is the baseline for success going forward and all lets hope JG can exceed this!

If you are going to be negative because of previous history, then you aren't really offering anything to the conversation.
There is actually a way to not be pessimistic and not getting too high or optimistic at the same time.
But its people act like these are the only two options they have.
Or they want to be proven right and they think it is more likely the Cardinals will fail.
Why You Should be AT LEAST Neutral-Positive This Upcoming Season:
- We won our last 2 home games. People might have to separate that from Kyler "always struggling at the end of the year."
- The Rams gm could of went alot different if Conner didn't get hurt...a team that scored only 23 pts in 2 gms vs our def WITHOUT A PASS RUSH.
Unless you think their defense is so dominant that holding us to 9 points makes sense after they gave up 42. They took PHI down to the wire
in the playoffs but they aren't that good.
-What does the offensive performance vs the Panthers without Conner in the 2nd half say about Kyler Murray's struggles?
That game should be put on the defense. 36 pts allowed to CAR is unacceptable. By the way, that lost to CAR was the ONLY loss
we had to a team that didn't make the playoffs. That is significant.
-We managed to be the 15th overall defense last year in points allowed and around 16th in sacks. WITHOUT A PASS RUSH.
-CBs always look better when you get a pass rush and we have a solid dline rotation for any down and distance.
This is not a defense of Kyler Murray. If we don't win a playoff game this year, the fanbase and media will tilt front office into making serious changes.
This is a defense of an average team lacking talent in a key area that pretty much filled their biggest need by taking Nolen tonight.

The thing with this video is he will likely specialize in pass rush on 3rd down. And there is no way Gannon and Monti take someone this high
if they think they have character issues.
SO...
People want to compare last year to 2021 collapse. Thats fine. I will take 10 wins this year with a 3-3 division record and we can even blow a game to
IND or someone. The difference we only be seen with how we play in the playoffs. Not whether or not we perform badly at the end of the regular season
again. I trust our coach and the moves our GM has made and will continue to make. I trust that for maybe only the 2nd time in his career,
Kyler has a top 10 defense. Something that "star qbs" in this league like Mahomes and Allen get handed to them every year. And if I am wrong,
then obv there is an issue with Kyler that can't be solved, but people acting like they know the future already are insane.
Stop basing your opinion on previous history and try to look objectively as if this was not your team.Things are going forward in the right direction
towards a playoff year for us. If you can't see that, you are blinded by "Cardinals of the past." We have a 10 win team and it might be more.
Saying that is not insane. It is barely being optimistic.
4 wins to 8 wins to ?
How do you add talent on a 14th ranked defense and suddenly get worse?
How does the offense get worse when Harrison has more experience and said the first part of the season was overly fast and sped up?
It is not worth being negative because you fear injuries either. If that happens, there is nothing we can do about it. But this team is in
contention with LAR for the division. The NFC West has never been won by the worst defense. This year, LAR, AZ and SEA are going to
likely improve from the top 15 defenses. SF was 28th, they aren't going to make a drastic improvement after losing all that talent in FA.
SEA needs a lot to go right, but contending for a playoff spot is not out of the question. I just think they will be fighting for the WC if
they do perform well. That leads the Rams, an offense that struggled vs our defense in two games last season and needed some luck
to avoid a sweep.
You can make the case someone else is a fav to win the division. But is not SF. And our chances are very high.
I think our minimum expectations at this point should be a playoff win leading to a second round exit.
Wheras, our ceiling is the NFC championship game.
We have coaches that were a huge part of a team that went to the Superbowl. I expect success in the playoffs.
You should too. Have some hope, its free. And you don't need to act some crazy bandwagoner to have it.
There are literally good reasons to be hopeful.
Also we went 0-6 two years ago in the division and then 3-3. Isn't 4-2 possible? I am not predicting it but it is.
And if we go 4-2, 11 wins is very attainable. Personally I am sticking with 10-7.
Last year I was hoping for 9 and got 8. According to NFL deep analytics, we should of won 9 games last year btw.

Mathematically, we underperformed our expectation. Same thing happened with Bears btw.
Take our SRS number and it has us ranked 12th in the league overall.
This is taken from the last day of the season before FA.
HOW CAN YOU NOT BE HOPEFUL?
