First off, I give MB credit for doing what needed to be done.

I appreciated that he referenced the blueprint for a one year turnaround. Specifically he said the expectation will be to win in year one, not year two. He could have easily not said that, so I appreciate it. This is a departure from what he allowed Monti to do in year one.

What I didn’t like was that Monti said the process will be long. Actually I loathed that comment. I feel like he’s preparing us to be the last organization to hire this offseason, which we all know means we will get the worst of the candidates.

The reporters did ask some pressing questions, but I wish they would have asked:

1. What were the athletic trainers doing/not doing that perhaps contributed to the amount of injuries the last couple of seasons?

2. What lessons did you learn from the last time you hired a coach, and how are you going to get it right this time?

MB knew he had to fire Gannon because of fans in the seats next year, hopefully he gets the hire right this time? Having said all of this, MB is also a cheapass owner, he spends more than his pops did on the team but he's still cheap. Owners that wanna win like he says he does hiires a VP of football operations person. On a side note, the coaching searches are fun but being a Cardinals fan since 1976, yeah, not too many successful coaches hired by the Cardinals, there's a reason for this & the reason is the "Bidwill's".

I want to know when Phoenix reporters decided to grow some balls?!! Man, they were brutal on Monty! Loved it! It’s about time someone has to squirm.

Also loved the question to Michael about catering to the rich. His response was “ you should see our concession stands…”. He was pissed.

Nice job media! FINALLY!

Agree Josiah, but let's face it: MO's responses to your two good questions would have been more word salad.

Yeah, not a great showing from Monti. He pretty much just said words (blah, blah, blah) and looked sheepish about his own body of work.

I forgot to mention, Monti’s noncommittal comments about K1 definitely leads me to believe they are going in a different direction at QB next season.
Without doubt. A GM, that continually craps on the QB by shadow benching him and then saying he, Jabroni and Slovis are all “under contract” when asked about Kyler isn’t bringing that guy back to be his QB the next season.

I've heard so little about anyone other than Graves that I thought this title didn't exist with the Cardinals lol. Either way, our ownership & FO sucks, so does the scouting dept. Heard so much from Monti about wanting to revamp the whole scouting dept, yet here we are 3 years later still lacking good players.

Mentioning Slovis just highlights how little this group cares about the fans. Absolutely ridiculous.

disagree. we have many good players. we have brought in a lot of talent.
But that talent has been allowed to stagnate...go undeveloped..this roster is way better than the record.
at the very minimum we needed to replace half our position coaches and half our trainerrs...
definitely need to fire whoever is developing the workout routines for the defensive line..... 2 years in a row...d lineman...strained calf... this is not a coincidence... its a structural failure in the design of the workout that is exposing our young guys to injuries.... cant say if its too fast in resistance progression...not adequate recovery time...or not realizing you are straining a muscle group by giving it secondary work on days before and after it gets primary work... but whoever designs their workouts should know these things

Which brings me back to the owner, he's cheap & will continue to do things cheap & that includes not hiring the right coaches & training staff to fix issues or even spend money to look into why these injuries keep occurring. At the end of the day, I'm a lifelong Cardinals fan & will always be, however, I'm just fed up with MB, maybe one day he'll get lucky & hire a coach that can help him fix this mess but I ain't gonna hold my breath.

man,...it would make a great movie if Mike discovered he had a kid from some barely remembered college fling...he decides to stoke up a relationship...and the kid coaches football...
he decides to win "Dad's" approval by helping him out of a jam in his need for a coach... he steps in, builds a staff of unknown prodigies...and goes forth to lead the Big Red to its first ever Super Bowl victory....because he has waited his enire life to hear, " Im proud of you son!"

then of course, baby momma shows up at the on field celebration right after the game...snatches the mic away from Budda Baker and goes on a tirade about how Mike emotionally abused her in college,...then abandoned his kid...even had a couple mafia looking types stop by her house and advise her that stopping her attempts to reach out to mike was a good health decision....

Mike flips,... fires the kid...sues the momma for public humiliation...

But Mike didnt want to disappoint the fans...winning is not just a habit but an addiction...
so he hires Mike Martz to take over for his son... a winning coach, thats all we need!!

His offense was one of the most explosive I ever watched, maybe he'd be interested & have some new ideas lol? It couldn't be any worse than JG.
offensive minded.

and HEY!!!.... maybe he would fulfill the dreams of the fanboys and convince Kurt Warner to come on board as Offensive Coordinator...or at least QB coach!

those guys were so close.............
