I certainly agreed with his first benching, and I am to no extent a full McCown supporter...he has to do it waaaay more than once in a blue moon.

That said, WOW!!! Had a pretty lousy first half, but MAN, did he perform a miracle in the second, win or lose.

The benching in hindsight wasn't the greatest idea.

That's hindsight though. I didn't like it at the time but DG was just trying to inject some get up to the offense.

He flinched when he should have been patient and we'll never know if it cost us or not but be real. This team has no business going anywhere this year all it really did was kinda skew the McCown experiment in an odd way.

Long term it may turn out to be the right thing for the team it may have grown up some people.

I think we shouldn't proclaim anyone anything but I would hope we take into account the overall team play when we evalute someone like the QB. This isn't a good team.

Josh still needs major work if he wants the starting job. Let him earn it or not but nothing should be given to anyone.

All that said he looked like a real NFL QB today, still some happy feet but getting better.

I was for his benching but will definately say now he gives us the best chance of winning. Navarre may be better in the long run but McCown is who we need to go with the rest of the season.

He also can't throw anything on target deep. It's hard for the receiver to get any YAC if he has to get both feet off the ground to make the catch.

An awfull 49er team just made McCown look... average... thats all.

Fitz is Denny's godson, if you were in the same situation, wouldn't you do the same thing? He's a justifable Top 15 pick, and you have the 3rd pick, could tried to trade down, but if something goes wrong than Larry's dad is mad at you and you don't get a big red sweater for x-mas.
