Reese is a pipe-dream. I’m 95% sure he’ll be the first non-QB off the board.

I like Bailey, but it sounds like he may have character concerns(dirty player)

I think Mauigoa is a better OG than OT, but we’ll see.

Love is a Keim pick, not Monti. Monti has shown that he doesn’t go for non-premium picks(RB, ILB, OG) in the 1st round so far. Don’t see that at all.

Woods reminds me a bit of Jefferey Simmons. Jeff wasn’t a pass-rusher like that either, but he was so strong at the POA & athletic enough to cause havoc at the next level.
Mauigoa has a little bit of Tristan Wirfs in him IMO. I don't think he is quite as athletic, but I see some similarities.

Last year this line was around top 10 depending on your favorite flavor of grading metrics.

we expected Big Will to suffer,...guys never come back from a knee as exactly themselves in the first year...it was always gonna be next season to see him truly back...but generally speaking 70% of Hernandez is better than 100% of Adams.
Last year we all knew that LG was our glaring weakness...until Hernandez went down and suddenly LG was our strongest guard spot.
Jonah...a player the worst line in the NFL was comfortable letting go...a placeholder as young guys developed...but they didnt...

still..reality, product on the field, comparisons, results...4/5 players dont all decide to suck balls at the same time..
one common denominator...the loss of Clayton Adams, and the hiring of Frye.

Frye has to go. Not only does he fail schematically but we are seeing a massive loss in young player development.
almost makes it an exercise in futility to use valuable draft picks to improve the line only to have their development hampered by an incompetent coach.
I understand if they dont want to make a move during the season. I do.
But, when the final gun goes off, last game of the season...and the team is walking to the locker room for the final time in 2025...
yeah, thats a good time. fire him then.

we already know we have the talent to put a top ten- ish line on the field... but Frye presents us with a bottom five line. The problem is identified.

The Cards have 1 above average starter on the OL.
Other than Paris, we have 4 practice squad players starting.

Even though I was told Hernandez was a top RG in the off season.

I said it awhile ago and I’ll say it again, they were never great. Kyler made them look so much better than they are. And of course it’s evident they miss Adams as a coach.

No doubt , coaching matters. I hate the thought of starting all over again with a new staff. But I’m afraid anybody this organization hires will be on the cheap and no better.

can we finally agree everybody from fro on over has to go on the right side - but the coach first of all
You could be right but I don't believe he has forgotten how to play. I think it will come out after the season that he's been playing with some sort of injury. We'll see

Im sure thats true to some degree, but the online was able to run block the past 2 years very well, fell off a cliff this year. I cant figure out what happened.

#1: Failing to address the IOL. Evan Brown is a bum that was helped last year by Fro. Adams sucks out loud. Will H. didn't play for the first however many games, and wasn't ready for full-time work even then. That leaves Fro, who himself has fallen off a cliff in his play, to cover for lackluster play at both G spots. Terrible work by Monti. Fireable offense.

#2: They don't have JC making them look good.

setting aside the fact that Adams was overdrafted -- i dont know how as a GM you looked at his ineffective play last year and conclude "he is a starter next year". I think you could say "IF he develops, he could be a starter", but thats as far as you can go.

I like Will H -- but here is a player a year older coming off of a major knee injury. It doesnt take much lost quickness for a pulling guard to being met IN the hole and a play being ruined.

those are two bets in the offseason at RG that were VERY uncertain.

#3: They don't have a mobile QB along with JC that covered up some of their weaknesses.

I think we know more fully understand the tradeoff the two QBs have been making given the poor run and pass blocking:

Kylers approach was to get rid of the football quickly -- nearly always short.

JBs approach is to hang in there -- which gives you deeper throws, but also more sacks.
