Agree with you, Hollywood.
I think this team is "special", actually. I'm full on koolaid here, but I think those early losses helped us, especially the one against the Rams, who have proven to be total pretenders and as inept as every other year.
I don't know how many of you have watched the NFL DVD's of the SB winners, they have a boxed set of every one, and they all say, after the fact, that there was a point in the season where they overcame adversity and knew, beyond a doubt, they were good enough to win it all--often those realizations came in a loss during the season, sometimes it was beating an adversary they hadn't been able to overcome in the past. We've done both. I honestly believe that's where we're at. I think we'll look back and look at our losses, as well as our wins against Seattle and Cinci, and we'll say that's when it changed, when they knew.
Our team seems very confident, but often when you talk a lot it's due to a lack of confidence, and I remember BA saying last year and the year before that they were still learning how to
expect to win. He wasn't talking about just winning, he was talking about the attitude of expecting it, every week, every game. Fitz took issue with that (for him), but I think BA has been building that confidence since he got here, and I also further believe that's part of why he's so vocal and boisterous about this team. We're always so worried about the big-bad Rams and the 49ers and Seattle and all BA does is disparage them and say we're better. That's for the team, not for us, he only says it in the media to show that you either believe or you don't, say it or sit down.
We're built really well, we can score in chunks offensively through the air, and we have some good corners to stop the pass. Enjoy the ride folks, it's going to be a great rest of the regular season and post-season.
