Why does everyone assume the Cards will lose a couple more games?

Ide say its quite clear they aren't great.. Great teams don't do this to teams decimated like the 49ers… JMO

Great teams score 73 combined points against the #1 and #2 scoring defenses in consecutive weeks.

Why are you all surprised about the outcome of this game? Coming off of two emotionally charged games, we were due to come out flat. Thankfully, we won. We're a better team than when we played Pittsburgh.

I think the biggest thing, IMHO anyway, is the total disintegration of our run game.... I don't care how aggressive BA is and how "great" our passing game is supposed to be, come playoff time, if you can't run and can't convert short yardage plays, you will get bounced...

Performances like today so far is why people think we could lose another 2 games. This team is very good, but it's still yet to be seen if it's GREAT.

+1

Cardinals knew the Niners would be fired up for this game and came in flat. Oline got worked today. Niners Dline worked us today. Rams Dline are looking forward to next week.

If we win the next 3 against STL, Min & PHI, it's likely that the last two against GB & SEA won't mean anything in which case we can rest players in weeks 16 & 17

That never works out well it seems.

We have a legitimate shot to run the table. We aren't playing NE or CAR in the reg season, and we'll see how NE responds to the injuries (probably pretty well).

yeah... assuming we have the 2 seed wrapped up by then (which is still a big IF and assumes we win the next three and GB loses once) you can't stop playing with 2 games left in the season, with the bye coming up as well. You go hard in the GB game, IMO, but probably don't reveal a lot of tricks up your sleeve with a possible playoff matchup in a couple weeks. Then, the next week, probably play your starters for a half, if that and then shut it down.

Interesting possibilities, but a L next week in a tough environment changes all this talk to make it another photo finish for the 2 seed with Minny and GB looming large at the end of the year.

What has me concerned is that the running game looked like seasons past with poor blocking and short runs. It looked to me that Chris Johnson had very little opportunity to gain yardage because defenders were all over him.

Are these the SAME guys who predicted....

the Cowboys would "run the table"? ...Or the U.S.A. Today writers who 3 weeks ago (before Sea./Cin.) )predicted the Cards would miss the play-offs completely? IMHO "predicting" games in the NFL is well, silly. Key injuries, bad calls, etc. So many variables come into play.

But...I'll take 9-2 at any point in a season...

It is a real possibility, have you seen their remaining schedule.

They play Rutgers, Army, SMU, Marshall and Iowa State.

:biglaugh:
You forgot their 5th game against army again since it's a divisional game.
They just beat smu

I have this feeling Carolina's season is going to end on a sour note... I do not deny that great defense but just watch Cam and his boys have a stinker or two :)

Every one of their opponents have one thing in common (except maybe the Saints) and that is that they are all vying for playoff spots right now and very well still could be when they play Carolina. Meanwhile with every win from here on out the more complacent Carolina could become and thus makes an upset even more likely.
