Because he has more value as a future asset than he has as a bridge starter in what is likely to be a butt season.

Get something for him in 2025 or lose him for nothing in 2026.
Wow, that's a hard reality to accept. If this is true, it takes all the anticipation out of a hopeful season next year

I know, HOPEFUL is a trigger.......so next year will be a bleeping bleep of a season because of the bleeping bleepers running this bleeping organization...sorry I've been a "savage" for a couple of hours...

No inside info, just a feeling. I think the Cards will first take a shot at Willis. I did hear Matt LaFleur was positive about him. They likely will set an upper number and if they can’t secure him, they will explore trades that could land Simpson. I don’t think the return justifies trading Bissett unless they get Willis. The trick with getting Simpson is how high do you have to take him? Would anyone try to jump ahead of the Cards if the Cards moved down? If they lose Simpson how do they have the tackles ranked? If they can accept a development period, Proctor also works. If they need immediate security; Fano first, then Mauigoa. Of course they could go free agency for the tackle, but they mostly have tread wear and will they still be effective when the Cards are looking to go for the playoffs? I still think they trade down regardless of how the rest goes.

Glad to hear they won't chase Malik. I could see $25 million (year one), 30 (year two) & 35 (year three) with an out after two years if he didn't meet expectations.

I am so dead inside, it wouldn't bother me if they took Simpson at 3 if they really liked him. Better that than trying to play the value game and getting no one we really want.

My guess is we offer 2 year 50 million 35 million guaranteed….but I admit even 25 might be too high…22 per may be our highest offer…which is slightly more than fields got

This!!! We need a reason to watch this year…only Simpson or Willis gives us a reason to watch this year….Monti is desperate and bidwill probably has told him get me Willis at a good price or give me the Alabama kid

In a league where borderline top-10 QB’s are making $50+ mil a year I’m cool with taking a shot on Malik for half that. Need to get him an upgraded OL and star RB though.

Agreed that we need to put all our resources on offense to go with what we already have….

Love and Simpson would be the ideal one one or one two punch. I need to see the Cards free agency first. First let's see if a collective OOF needs to be let out afterwards.

Uh, no. We need to win more games. IDGAF if it means we win with 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Willis, Simpson, they would just be splash names IMO. We need to get better, not look flashy in the offseason.
