Welcome to the Herald-Times Athlete of the Week poll for May 18-23 presented by IU Health.

Congratulations to last week's winner, the Bloomington North boys volleyball team, which received 45.7% of the vote (8,894) to top Eastern Greene baseball player Chaz Perry (31%).

Readers can vote as much as they like in this week's poll, which will close on Friday, May 29 at noon, a day later than usual due to the holiday. Here are this week's nominees:

Ellie Barada, South girls track​


Broke the school and meet record in the 1,600 at the Bloomington South Sectional with a 4:43.73, won the 800 in 2:11.86 and anchored the 4x800 to a title in 9:21.27 and the 4x400 to a win in meet record 3:59.09.

Sloane Barrett, South softball​


Just one game last week for Panthers as senior went 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and two RBIs in a 7-6 loss to Bedford North Lawrence.

Ally Bland, Edgewood softball​


Senior tossed another no-hitter with 15 strikeouts in regular season finale, a 5-0 win over Vincennes Lincoln.

Macey Crider, Edgewood girls track​


Won the shot put title at the Bloomington South Sectional with a 38-2 heave, finished second in the 100 in 12.76 and anchored the 4x100 relay to third place and a school record of 50.00.

Caelan D'Onofrio, North boys track​


Grabbed two titles at the Bloomington South Sectional, winning the 1,600 in 4:18.68 and the 800 in 1:56.78.

Alan Hays, North boys track​


Swept the hurdles at the Bloomington South Sectional in near career bests, winning the 110s in 14.35 and the 300s in 38.28.

Mira Koduri and Clara Tweedie, South girls tennis​


Pulled out the clinching match at No. 1 doubles in a 3-2 win over Bloomington North in the sectional title match, 2-6, 6-3, 6-0.

Josiah Powell, North boys track​


Earned spots at regional in the 100 and 200 with career best times to 10.91 and 22.24.

Reese Robertson, South girls track​


Freshman won the high jump competition at the South Sectional with a career best 5-4.

Adriene Shaevitz, South girls track​


Broke the meet record in the 100 hurdles at the Bloomington South Sectional with a 14.05, helped the 4x100 relay break the meet record with a 48.38 and won the 300 hurdles in 46.46.

Zach Sipes, North baseball​


Went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice bunt and two RBIs in Game 1 and was 1-for-2 with a sac fly and three RBIs in Game 2 as the Cougars swept Indian Creek, 10-3 and 9-3.

Gabe Taylor, South boys track​


Swept the 100 and 200 titles at the Bloomington South Sectional with winning times of 10.78 and 21.93.

Sophie Winkle, North girls track​


Sophomore earned three spots at regional with her performances at the Bloomington South Sectional, taking second in the long jump (16-2¼), third in the 100 hurdles (15.42) and fourth in the 300s (48.08).

Owen Wisley, South boys golf​


Junior had a career best round of 73 at Timbergate to lead the Panthers to a sixth straight and last Conference Indiana Tournament title.
